Rated 3 out of 5 by NorthVA Ok, but nothing special
This item runs large and the sleeves are very long. The fabric is stretchy and surprisingly light weight. It's not a technical fabric designed for wind or water resistance. So it's not particularly warm and does little to stop the wind. It can serve as an alternative to a light fleece that can be had for less than $20, so I wouldn't say this item is worth the money.

I used this a week ago in Boone, NC while I sat in the stands and watched Wofford beat App State. Great game and great jacket. It was cold and I layered underneath as I sat in the stands nice and toasty. Plenty of arm room for sweaters etc. Nice finish and it appears well made. I got it wet too and no problems.

Great jacket but the sleeves are too long. You either have to cuff them or hem them. Elastic would have been better at the cuffs like the old styles.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FromtheValley Great the second time around
Jacket is very nice, I like the weight, a little heavier than some fleece. Only problem was, that I had to return the first one I bought due to an unstitched seam.
This is becoming a trend with LL Beans imported products. I've given up on Polo shirts due to quality issues.

Originally ordered a Large, but had to exchange for a Medium because it was too big. I'm 5'11 175 lbs and even the Medium is baggy. Also, the sleeves and wrist openings are HUGE. You would literally need to have the world's largest hands to fill them and the sleeves hang awkwardly around your hands and not at the wrists. Way too much material in the sleeves and wrists area. LLBean, PLEASE draw these wrists in tighter. It makes me feel like this jacket swallows me because every time I want to use my hands I have to pull the sleeves up.
Very comfortable and warm. Love the brown color. But I would not purchase again because of the issues listed above. (Wish I could exchange this for an updated product instead of just ordering a new size...)

Still deciding if I should return or exchange this item. I ordered two different jackets from LLBean and this one was way bigger than the other one.

I ordered this for my husband. Although we hoped summer was here and not need a fleece fora while, the nights are still chilly watching spring sports games. Perfect.

I love this jacket! Mine's in navy blue and it looks and feels wonderful. I don't understand the few folks saying that it doesn't block the wind: YES, IT DOES. (And this is wind by the Atlantic Ocean in March!) The berber fleece lining is very comfortable as well. As advertised, during a light rain the water simply beaded off. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

This is a fantastic looking jacket...the heathered fleece adds a refined touch. I think people who complain of the light weight were expecting a heavier wool garment, which is understandable based on its appearance...it looks rugged. But it is light just like any other fleece jacket. Looks great dressed both up and down. Highly recommend...

Rated 2 out of 5 by Ipswichian Penobscot fleece- beware the arms
I should have read the reviews! I always wear a 38-40 medium and ordered that size, but its like a tent on me and the sleeves are far too long (a good 2"). The material isn't great, would snag eaily and collects fluff.
After a couple of bad experiences I'm beginning to loose faith in Bean's sizing consistency- I've had mediums ranging from skin tight to ultra baggy and no longer want the hassle of returning them.
