I've only worn these for 2 days and they dig into the back of my foot. They have to go back. Not comfortable.

It took several wearings before the shoe was broken in, however now they are very comfortable.

I'll start off positively; the shoe looks, and fits, well. But I wore them to work for not even one day and they made my heel raw (a literal raw spot on my heel). So, I returned them. However, I was able to return them without any trouble.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MadBadTrad NOT built to last
I have a 15 year old pair of LL Bean Oxfords that are still going strong and I wear them practically every day in the colder months. And I'm very hard on shoes. That's how good they are. I shall wear them far into duck-tape territory.
And yet, I am still looking for replacements and I thought, perhaps, that these are they. Well, I was wrong. They are NOT built to last (no pun intended, lol). While they look rugged, the leather is very thin and the lining is fabric.
I would rather pay more and have them last. They should be in 2.5mm leather. They should be leather lined.
I would easily pay $300.00 for a pair of very well made Nubuck Oxfords.
In my opinion, these are still more of the same disposable clothing that so much of our culture "consumes".
This is the first time I have ever written a negative review for virtually anything.

by jermscentral Great shoes, poor laces
I saw another reviewer had the same experience as me - the shoes themselves are excellent, but the laces are subpar. Mine took about 3 days to break in the shoe before they became the most comfortable shoes I have, but after three months of wearing them almost daily for work, the cloth part of the lace on one of the shoes wore itself apart at the top eyelet, exposing the inner shoelace cord and making it difficult to tighten the shoelace because it kept pulling up the outer cloth portion of the lace (see photo for what the fray looks like). LL Bean doesn't stock the laces to replace these, so your only options are to buy your own new laces or replace the pair of shoes.

Rated 3 out of 5 by porto EE wide is narrower than most regular
Very nice shoe, good leather, almost suede-like. The down-sides are a very narrow fit (my EE wide fit narrower than most regular casual shoes) and the soles tend to squeak a little more than I'd like. Currently trying to tough-out the sore feet hoping they'll stretch.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Allen18 Durable shoes, bad shoelaces
These shoes are well made, but I can't say the same for the laces, which are torn and fraying after 3-4 months. The shoes are not the most comfortable, but they seem durable and are good in bad weather.

Rated 2 out of 5 by konza847 Maybe it's just my feet, but...
I've had two pair of these for over three months now- a plain pair and a pair of wingtips. I tried a pair of them on in the store and they seemed to fit, but when they arrived (I wanted colors they didn't stock) they were uncomfortable, especially on the top of my foot. I attributed that to them being new, and they have gotten better, but they are still uncomfortable. The sole isn't very flexible, and I suspect that contributes to the situation. I'm going to start looking for something that fits- and feels- better.
