Considering the folded up size, this is one large kennel. If the dog can get through the door, the kennel is sure to be big enough. Down size is the door is kind of small.
Setup and takedown are both easy, but 2 people makes it easier.
Would have given it 5 stars if not for the small door.

Bought two of these Stowaway Dog Kennels... Very good quality frame and nylon material. However, the zippers do not appear to be of the same high quality; when opening the unit for the first time, the zipper spread without using the pull. While these kennels are better constructed than ones we have purchased from other sources, most of them actually had better zippers. Only time will tell whether or not the zippers will withstand normal wear and tear. That is the ONLY reason I did not give it a 5 star rating. Ordering and shipping was very good.

Overall spacious and easy to set up and take down. The one problem is that the zipper for the door is too light weight and broke on the third or forth use. Of course LLB replaced it at no cost and even overnighted to me for a trip we were about to take. Fix the zipper and this is a ten in my book.

This portable kennel with the fitted pad is the perfect solution for travel and dog-sitting. We like to have our dog feel at home through the stress of travel and when we are away, and the convenience of packing this kennel on the go helps us feel less stress too. Reviews about the pad being noisy helped us add the LL Bean dog blanket, and it made the difference for our dog. See for yourself in the attached photo. Our dog is roughly 50 pounds, and she loves her home.

This kennel allows my Labrador to sleep in my bedroom each night.
He can't chew his way out, he's tried.
It is strong yet light enough to travel.
I recently bought another one because I gave my old one to my sister to use for her Chihuahuas.
Highly recommend it.

Customer service at the Yonkers LLBEAN store is tops! They were very patient and let me bring my hound in to try the crate. The crate is a little dark- not like the metal crates that my dogs love are used to. But with a little play and bribery my dog went in. I purchased the Sotwaway Kennel for our upcoming camping trips so my 78# greyhound won't sleep on top of me. The next morning I set it up with a soft thick blanket and dog treat inside. The legs on the crate are not even, A blanket under it so it wouldn't rock. Yes, my dog went in again to take his treats. I zippered it, the zipper felt a little funky at the bottom. Unzipped it and let my dog out. Left it open for him to go in and out and get used to the smaller area(he's used to a 30" crate). Low and behold, I went to move it and zip it and noticed the zipper was broken!
It's going back tomorrow- 2 zips and the zipper is broken?

Love it!! Was recommended to me from a friend - I have a large metal one that I would lug around. This kennel is GREAT! The nylon is very thick but light. It folds up to a great size when not in use. As soon as I set it up, my 70# lab ran in and wouldn't get out. He loved it. The zip closures are great - I love that you can leave the top open if you want. I recommend a mat for the bottom though - just to help keep it clean.

Ordered crate and it arrived one day early. VERY easy to assemble, put up and then take down. Folds up to a small rectangle box or flat design - your choice. Fairly light to carry around. It is a great crate and one that I needed for indoor dog shows. Many folks at the show liked it and then they too purchased one from L.L. Bean.

Rated 3 out of 5 by merritt Too narrow for 77 pound German Shepherd Dog
I disagree with the description that says this crate fits large dogs. It is too narrow for my 77 pound German Shepherd dog. If she lays on her side in it, her legs are scrunched up. So, she doesn't like to stay in it more than an hour. If you have a smaller dog, this is an excellent packable crate. Sturdy, easy to set up and pack up. If it were 8 inches wider, it would work for us.

I camp ,vacation, and compete with my dogs. I have had various soft crates for the past 30 years . This seems to be constructed of very sturdy material. Sets up and down easier than any I have owned. I have some concerns about the lock open mechanism being tampered wth but even on the wild chance this happened I do not see a danger. Too bad it does not come in smaller sizes but it is plenty big enough for even a 90 pound dog.
