I tried these out with a dog walk this morning, and they're de-lightful: comfortable, lightweight, and durable looking. It is possible that they run a little large, but my normal size (5.5) isn't an option and the 6 works fine with lots of toe room. I highly recommend these!

I wore these for an hour and could feel too much movement in the boots. Sure enough, despite heavy socks, I developed some tiny blisters along the inside of my heel where the insole ends. I do have a narrow foot, so I added a sheepskin insole and they fit better. They also seem a half size short. I have to tie the laces tight to compensate for the width. Why can't they make all athletic boots/shoes in a narrow width? I'm tired of having to jerry-rig shoes to fit me properly. These are not for serious hiking...not enough arch support.

They look nice, are lightweight, and seem high quality. I want to like them, but they are going back: the back of the shoe rubs against my ankles/calves and hurts. LLBean usually makes great stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KKGH The first pair was great, second a tad small
I was thrilled that the first pair I bought (10W) of these were wonderful right out of the box. Wore them all day and they were great! I then bought a second pair but these seem a half size smaller than the first pair, darn. My toes need room to spread out while my heels need NOT to slip and get blisters and it's hard to find a boot like that. If only they had 10 1/2 wide I'd send the second pair back and try re-ordering in that size, but after size 10 there are no half sizes, and an 11 wide might be too much of a jump. Anyway if you have feet that demand toe room but you don't have wide heels, these are a good choice....wide enough but not too wide on the heel. Just be aware you may need to try several pairs to get the overall size right.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KKGH Perfect fit, a rarity!
It's so hard for me to find a boot which gives toe space without being loose at the heel. The 10 wides are just perfect, felt great from the moment I put them on. Wore them all day after first trying them on and they were still perfect by the end of the day, with no "hot spots". Fabulous! Now if they only weren't sold out in my size in the low cut model; I'd get several pairs of those to wear every day.

The hikers were purchased at the direction of my Orthopedist after the cast was removed from my foot & leg. I had broken a bone in my foot and he wanted me to walk flat footed in a hiking boot. They are very comfortable and look like regular sneakers. I would definitely recommend them.

I bought these boots to replace a sturdy, well-made pair of LL Bean hikers I have been wearing for more than 10 years. These boots are nowhere near the quality and craftsmanship of that first pair. Inferior materials throughout this pair. I could not depend upon the construction or comfort. Back they went!

Comfortable right out of the box, light weight, good support, good looks. I'm so glad I bought these! Just bought them so I can't rate durability, but my old LLBean boots were purchased years ago and are still good except that I've worn down the soles (to be expected after all those miles!).

This is a very comfortable and lightweight boot. It required no break-in. I would definitely purchase it again

I bought these after a terrible experience with another brand that pinched my toes and caused the big toe nails to weep serum and eventually fall off. Wide women's hiking boots are hard to find (I need a wide toe box and ample ankle space.)
The price was reasonable, but they are not waterproof or very durable looking. (Layered soles, synthetic toe guard.) I tried another style, that was waterproof and more durable looking but they did not seem as comfortable and I had to go up a size to get the width in the right place. They seemed too long.
As I am a fair weather hiker, I thought I'd give these a try.
I've only done a couple of short recreational hikes with them, but so far they are very comfortable and do the job.
I will probably continue to keep my eyes open for a more rugged (and expensive) pair for mountain hiking if I can ever find any wide enough. These will be fine for summer recreational hikes.
