Rated 5 out of 5áby EditorInSeattle Great shoe - excellent for long hours traveling.
I bought these for something comfortable to travel in, walk though airports, etc. I put gel insoles in right away, but I do so with all my shoes. Good ankle support and great non-slip soles. A real nice cross between a hiking boot and your favorite pair of hi-top tennis shoes.
These were very comfortable right out of the box. I've worn them almost every day for several months now and they still look new.
Very happy with this purchase. I even bought a second, "back up pair" on sale since it looks like LLBean is closing out this style. Excellent shoe... Thanks Bean!

These boots should not be called hikers. They are a walking sneaker at best. I had the older model of this boot, (which I purchased in Nov 2005, L.L. Bean had these until 2007-08) and they were a totally different design. They were much better looking than the new ones, they made with real nubuck leather, had better colors and a real hiker design. They had a full metal lacing system with metal lace loops (unlike beans current hiker models which uses fabric lace loops), nylon shanks, and had double lace hooks. They were also waterproof (Tek 2). The best thing about them was the price, which was less than 70 bucks, for a boot that lasted me a few years! The older model was called: Waterproof Pathfinder Hikers, Mid-Cut (Item# TA49002)
I got the newer boots as a gift, I tried them on and it had a weird fit. I did not like how it felt, it was too narrow and felt just felt weird. I did not feel these would last in a real hike, or hold up longer than a typical sneaker even as street wear.
L.L. Bean had a good boot and they had to ruin it with this new design. If anyone at L.L. Bean is listening, please bring back the older design.

Heel in-sole inside boot is incredibly narrow and angles up sharply 1 cm inside edge of shoe. This hurt my heel and was very uncomfortable even with normal width feet. Front of boot is normal to a little wide so wide shoes would be too wide in front. Never experienced anything like this, very disappointed.

I am on my second pair. The first held up great-- excellent support, room for orthodics, and comfortable. I wear them year round and find them comfortable winter or summer.

I returned these boots owing to a poor fit(too short and too narrow, even for my medium width 11 1/2 foot). Also these rubbed a hotspot above my ankle(even with use of light socks).Appears to be a great value in a light hiking boot,if sizing issues are addressed.

I have worn these boots for a couple of weeks. They are great! I haven't had trouble with the laces like others have faced. I wore them to play around outside during a heavy slushy snowfall and they actually kept my feet dry. I reccomend them. I got them in a wide size and could have actually went down a half size, but very happy with my purchase!

I like these shoes, but had to use insole inserts because the insoles feel concaved and cause the edges of my feet become sore.

My husbands Pathfinder hikers medium height fit great. He likes the grey color- goes with everything. Comfortable from the first wearing. Arrived quickly too!

I bought these after turning my ankle hiking with trail shoes. They are comfortable and supportive. I bought my true size, but need thick socks as my toe were moving forward going down rocks when I wore thinner socks.
