Rated 5 out of 5 by TexasGK Perfect Lightweight Chukka Moc
This is a great, light pair of boots. They are moccasins with a padded insole and a rubber sole for durability. Like other reviews (and the literature that comes with the boots) said, they fit tight across the top of the foot right out of the box. I have an average size (not too wide, not too narrow) foot and had difficulty putting them on the first time. After walking around the house for about 5 minutes and lounging in them for the rest of the evening, they stretched and conformed to my feet perfectly. Seriously, a perfect fit! They are now extremely comfortable boots. While not made for hiking rough trails, they are perfect for driving, goofing off around the house, or a night on the town.

Rated 4 out of 5 by tyhof Comfortable shoe
I've been wearing the shoe for about a month. It seemed a little narrow for the first few wears, but the leather has stretched for a comfortable fit. I have high arches and do to the tight fit at first, I did not add an insole. Due to the stretching of the leather, I have since put them in. For the moment, the fit is tight. I have the feeling that the leather will contour to the new fit.
Otherwise, the look is great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 40yearmocman Awesome quality...a bit small
These mocs are beautifully constructed, and the texture and suppleness of the bison leather are outstanding. I chose these mocs because of the comfort and quality of the fleece lined bison mocs I previously ordered from L.L. Bean (they were supposed to be more of a slipper, but because of comfort and looks I ended up wearing them all over until the leather soles wore through, after about two years). I ordered my regular size 12 for this boot moc, and after a generous break in period have determined that these are just a tad on the small size...big toe contacting and stretching the end of each moc a bit, and the width feeling a bit too tight across the toes.
I think enough of the comfort, construction and looks that I've ordered another pair in size 13! Hopefully these do the trick. My son wears a size 12 too, but his foot is just enough different from my foot that they fit him perfectly...he couldn't say enough good things about them...offered to wear them a bunch to help break them in for me. The 12's will be his now!
I can't comment on the longevity of the rubber soles yet...but I like walking and lounging in them so far! Bison leather in my experience conforms to your foot with wear, is durable, long lasting and beautiful in texture.
If you like the style and get a good fit, I don't think you can go wrong ordering up a pair of these boot mocs. I've worn various mocs for over 40 years (a pair of the better ones I've had that long and wear almost daily...many resoles) and these are the real deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Perquak Most Comfortable Boots I Have Ever Owned
The Grand Lake Bison Moccasins, Chukka Boot are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. For that matter, they are also the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. They fit perfectly right out of the box with no wear-in required. The Bison leather is soft and very comfortable, more so than cowhide. I am extremely pleaded with my purchase and recommend them highly.

Just opened these. Long term quality and value will have to wait. $79.
Mightily surprised upon opening the box. Expected the normal heavily constructed chukka. Not these. Single layer leather, no lining whatsoever on the uppers. Very little reinforcement in sole. Light as to weight, construction, and feel on feet. Flat sole, higher than usual raised insole.
Construction seems good, very comfortable right out of the box, nice if unimpressive look. The only question I have is long term durability. Time will tell but don't buy these expecting a regular shoe, these are definitely on the lighter side of the shoe spectrum, more Native American moccasin than traditional shoe.
In fact, think more like a canvas high top Converse tennis shoe except the canvas is a thin, supple leather. Not a leather tennis shoe, that would be way too firm. I'm not saying they fit like a high top tennie, they don't fit that tightly and the soles are flatter and harder than any performance tennie. It is just that the weight and feel of the leather is more well worn canvas than most shoe leathers.
Another analogy? Take a piece of leather designed for a good, quality sofa or chair. The thicker stuff. Instead, make a pair of shoe uppers. Not necessarily a bad thing, but, like me, it may not be what you expected.
I like them, hence the 5. However, I demand value for my money and only time will tell the real story.

I'll have to soak and stretch these to get anywhere close to a size 9, regular. Only thing I hate more is the return process. I'll think real hard before I order again. Getting too chintzy on materials.

I was able to wear them less than a day! The stitches on one shoe failed the first time I wore them. Returned them to a local LL Bean store

Rated 5 out of 5 by Foreigntraveler Very comfortable shoe!!
I have been very happy with these shoes. They are very comfortable and they fit perfectly. My feet run a little narrow so the fit is perfect for me. I see that LL Bean has dropped the price so I'll have to invest in another pair for later. Would definitely recommend to a friend. I 'll be taking these to Spain this Spring If anything, I wish these were also made in a darker shade of brown.

Bought these boots for my college son. He loves everything about them and he is very picky! True fit to size. The bison leather is very comfortable and conforms to your foot quickly. Haven't heard that first complaint.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigFoot1942 Choice of Laces
I own several Grand Lake Bison Moccasins, and have worn them almost exclusively since I retired 5 years ago. They're comfortable and extremely durable, although the narrower fit of the new edition takes some breaking-in. My biggest problem is that the leather laces in the regular mocs keep coming untied. (Needless to say, I wear them anyway!)
The Chukkas fit nicely and are comfortable, but until I spend more time in them and have them fully broken-in, I won't be wearing them continuously--they're snug in the forefoot. The chukkas came with pseudo-leather woven laces that remain tied in place of the leather laces that were included but not installed. I much prefer the woven laces.
