Rated 5 out of 5áby Finnishboy Tech. Upland Kangaroo Boots
The construction of the boot appears to be made well. The reason I bought the boots were for added insulation( I have the earlier version of the boot that is not insulated). The boot insulation (200 grams of Primaloft) is minimal so don't expect it to be a "cold" weather boot( thicker or extra Smartwool socks work great). For cold weather I would recommend the "big game" version of this boot(see my review of that boot). As mentioned before, I also have the earlier version of the "technical upland boot" and have experienced no seam failures as of yet (this version has similar seams in about the same locations). I love the BOA system and highly recommend it as you do not have to deal with wet and frozen laces and you can adjust the tightness of the boot during the day.

Rated 5 out of 5áby UplandBirds Works Great!
I have used these boots for some rugged bird hunting in New Hampshire and in Pennsylvania for the past month and they have worked flawlessly. I have hunted in both rainy and snowy conditions and my feet have been nice and dry. The soles work well in uneven terrain. There is some ankle and arch support which is important on uneven terrain. The locking system is revelatory and much, much better than tying laces repeatedly. They are, without a doubt, the best boots I have ever used for upland bird hunting and I would recommend them highly.

Rated 5 out of 5áby jwmscout Technical Kangaroo Upland Boot with Boa-Closure
So far it is a great boot. Nice and light. The Boa-Closure system is the cats meow. It applies even pressure all around the boot unlike laces. A simple press of the button and the boot is loose and ready to remove. Don't yet know about how water proof it is but I'm confident it will be fine.

Rated 5 out of 5áby WaltB Very good boots.
I had the earlier edition of this boot. These are much better. The boots are really comfortable and light, almost like wearing sneakers. I have had them for about a month. There is a minimal break in. I walked 3 miles in them the first day. The toe box is nice and wide and the heel fits snuggly. I think the boa lacing system is cool. The tread is moderately aggressive and helps in slippery conditions. They are very easy and quick to adjust. I just got back from a week long pheasant hunt in ND? My new boots are little scuffed up but I have happy feet. We walked up to 12 miles per day through water, briars, thorns, mud, plum thickets, saw grass, you know, rough conditions. My feet were kept dry and comfortable. The weather was down into the 20's F and up to 50 or so. The boots performed exceptionally and were not too warm. I would recommend these upland boots to any bird hunter.

Rated 4 out of 5áby FieldExtreme LL's Gen 2 tech boots-awesome improvements!
Avid bird and big game hunter. When I'm not hunting, I train dogs in the field 365 days a years. LL Bean learned from the development of the first generation of this tech boot. The fit, feel, and weight make it the perfect choice for us folks who live the outdoor life. The new materials (kangaroo hide) appear to be more durable yet light weight, very comfortable, water-proof, and supportive for those log days afield.
Solid value. I've NEVER written a review but feel compelled to express how pleased I am with this product! I would rate it near perfect but the company should make a non-insulated version.

Rated 4 out of 5áby Search4U Great boot; too hot
I replaced the earlier technical upland boots with these due to the seam issue with the superfabric. Same fit and feel. Ideal for the search and rescue hiking I do. However, these are insulated and on my last hike - 7.8 difficult miles, I had to stop and remove them to let my feet cool down. Ambient temperature was about 70 and windy. This is our cool weather here in central california so I will give them one more try but if they get hot again, they will be returned.

Rated 5 out of 5áby violetrosebud You'll love these boots
My husband absolutely loves these boots. They're extremely lightweight, warm, waterproof, and, best of all, is the innovative closure. Thanks LLBean, you've done it again, a fantastic item. Well worth the price.

Rated 4 out of 5áby commonwealthhiker good looking boot
I had an earlier version of these that were grey with rubber where these have leather. But the seam broke on the side and would let water in. I returned those and got these instead. Took a long time to arrive but they look great. Plusses= comfortable, lightweight, love the boa. Minuses= I'm not sure how well the leather will hold up and they don't seem as durable. The leather is already getting pretty skuffed up. The material isn't as stain resistant as the grey boots. They are great to look at but I feel like I spent too much to take them out in the rain and mud.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Phezhunter Excellent Boot
They are everything I have been looking for in an upland boot; light, flexible with support, water proof and a good value. The Boa-Closure system is great. Makes it very easy to adjust the boot in the field. Very pleased!
