Rated 5 out of 5 by JoefromMobile Great boots!
I don't write many reviews but I LOVE these boots. I bought them a year and a half ago for a South Dakota pheasant hunting trip that never happened. I finally took the tags off and wore them to make sure they were going to be comfortable for this years hunt..... I have worn them every day for work since then. They are the most comfortable shoes of any type I have ever bought!
Thanks L.L. Bean for another fine product.

First, the best fitting boat out of the box, ever, I love the boa system. Unfortunately they wear out fast "like two weeks of hunting in North Dakota". After two weeks they looked like they were 20 years old. The toes wear out quickly. I have worn them several more times and there are actually several small holes opening up in each toe. I am very disappointed, I have a narrow foot and these boots were great right out of the box. I am returning them for a new pair and will have a shoe maker beef up the toe.

I love these boots because they are SO functional, warm, and comfortable. Downsides are: 1) hard to squeeze my foot through the tight neck of the boot 2) not particularly beautiful looking boots!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mmmmmjo best upland boot design available imo
I love these boots. This is the best upland hunting boot design on the market, imo. The first SuperFabric version was problematic -- I went through a number of pairs that all quickly failed on the seam near the big toe on the instep after very few days in the field. This was annoying but I liked everything else so much that I replaced them with these. This kangaroo leather and cordura version so far seems to correct that problem. I spent about a dozen days in them in January, hunting birds in SW Nebraska in typical late season high plains weather, zero to fifties, wind, sleet, snow. No sign of trouble.
These boots are a very comfortable fit right out of the box. I also bought a pair of Bean's regular kangaroo leather upland boot this season, and while I like them, I like these a lot better. They are light, and your feet are much fresher in that last hour when the dog is still working roosters full speed on a cold day.
The Boa system makes them easy on and easy off, which is great at the end of a long day, or the 3rd straight long day. I've now logged hundreds of hours in the field wearing boots with Boas, and hundreds of days guiding walk-and-wade fishing in wading boots with Boas as well, w/o ever a single issue. I was skeptical about adding complexity and the potential for mechanical failure to something simple, but Boas are an evolutionary leap forward.
I wear a gaiter often when hunting. The Boa mechanism does not cause any issue with that.
I do wish Bean would offer a full kangaroo leather version. In the high wear areas on the front of the foot, plowing all day through the thick grass started the Cordura to start to pill (or whatever) a bit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yellerdog Good idea poor execution
I have had three pairs of these boots in the past three years. All of these boots have been returned for the same reason. After wearing them for less than two weeks for hard upland hunting they all leaked, and had deterioration of the leather or tech material. I love the fact that they are wearable out of the box, they are lite and the Boa system is fantastic (although on the recent pair of boots the system failed to release without using leverage from a file in my multi-tool). I offered my advise to fix the problems, however, they would rather replace them on in the current case refund my money. If you want a comfortable boot without staying power these are for you.

by Uplandguide1 Simply the best there is
I am an upland guide and shooting instructor. I am in the field and range 150 days a year. I have a closet filled with boots. Last year I hurt my knee needed surgery, and in September was looking for boots that were easy to get on and off and tie, because of my lost knee range of motion. Enter these boots......I can only say these boots are comfortable to wear all day, are as light as a feather, go on and off in a flash, and are warm on the coldest days, and dry when the weather is warm and damp. My closet full of boots just got reduced to one pair..and will be two pairs when these wear out, as I will buy another pair at once. My heading of "Simply the best there is" is a true as true could be. They are simply the best boots I have ever worn, hands down, bar none.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Buckshot54 Very Nice Outdoor Boot!!!!!
Used this boot while hunting in UpState New York in all sorts of weather and the boots performed as they said it would. Last year I purchased boots from LL Beam and had to return them only after the 3rd time hunting because the boots leaked, which the boots stated they were 100% waterproof. This time I went with this boot which also stated they were 100% waterproof and they were, never had a leak all season Sept - Dec. They were used in the rain, sleet & snow and never had a problem. My toes got a little cold when the temperature was around 15 F but other than that they were comfortable. Best part of the boot is that they have easy off and on lacing. The only downside that I didn't like was that the wire lacing is noisy when moving around in your deer stand or while walking in the woods trying to be quite. Love the boots!!!!!!!!!

VERY PLEASED WITH BOOT. LIGHT AND COMFORTABLE. TWO ISSUES WITH BOOT. THE LATCH IS HARD TO OPEN AFTER AN ALL DAY HUNT AND THE EXTRA PIECE ON THE TOE LOOKS TO BE SOFT. DOES NOT LOOK TO LAST MAYBE TWO SEASONS. SUGGEST A TUFFER MATERIAL FOR TOE COVERING.

Rated 1 out of 5 by unclet69 Great boot, but think mine was missing Goretex!
Love BOA, very comfortable, lightweight boot...BUT.. I wore in wet conditions twice. First time was an AZ Monsoon on an early archery elk hunt. Feet were soaked. I paused and said..well I had to hike out in a wicked thunderstorm and was walking in a couple of inches of water for about a mile. Benefit of the doubt given. Well this AM on a late elk hunt with my son, we were out in a gentle rain, not walking in water on ground, just wet grass and steady light rain...for only about 30 minutes....feet soaked again. Not damp, but socks almost soaked thru...I think goretex maybe missing on mine? But back they go. I need waterproof to be waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SWNewYorker Very comfortable with a great lacing system
These boots are exactly as described and are the best boots I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable and appear well made. The Boa's Closure provides easy on and off with even pressure on my feet and ankles. It does away with troublesome lacing that I dislike on regular boots. This is the second winter I have been using them to snow blow my driveway. They provide good traction and keep my feet warm with the winter temperature in the teens here. Before wearing them for the first time in the snow, I sprayed the outside with a water and stain protection, then polished just the leather with a brown shoe cream to protect them from the elements. At times, I need to purchase my footwear 1/2 size larger. This was the case with these boots.
