Rated 1 out of 5áby unclet69 Great boot, but think mine was missing Goretex!
Love BOA, very comfortable, lightweight boot...BUT.. I wore in wet conditions twice. First time was an AZ Monsoon on an early archery elk hunt. Feet were soaked. I paused and said..well I had to hike out in a wicked thunderstorm and was walking in a couple of inches of water for about a mile. Benefit of the doubt given. Well this AM on a late elk hunt with my son, we were out in a gentle rain, not walking in water on ground, just wet grass and steady light rain...for only about 30 minutes....feet soaked again. Not damp, but socks almost soaked thru...I think goretex maybe missing on mine? But back they go. I need waterproof to be waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5áby SWNewYorker Very comfortable with a great lacing system
These boots are exactly as described and are the best boots I have ever owned. They are extremely comfortable and appear well made. The Boa's Closure provides easy on and off with even pressure on my feet and ankles. It does away with troublesome lacing that I dislike on regular boots. This is the second winter I have been using them to snow blow my driveway. They provide good traction and keep my feet warm with the winter temperature in the teens here. Before wearing them for the first time in the snow, I sprayed the outside with a water and stain protection, then polished just the leather with a brown shoe cream to protect them from the elements. At times, I need to purchase my footwear 1/2 size larger. This was the case with these boots.

On a recent quail trip one hunter in our party was wearing these upland boots with the Boa-Closure. He couldn't say enough good things about the boots with ease of putting on and taking off. When told they came from LL Bean that sealed the deal. When checking the online reviews for this Kangaroo boot I took one reviewer's advice in ordering a 1/2 size larger. I like wearing a heavier weight sock with boots and these fit like a dream. That said, there are pretty true to a street shoe sizing. The Boa-Closure concept is pretty slick and after a day in the field it's a dream to kick them off. Extremely comfortable.

I wear a 12 wide in all my other boots but 12 wide was out of stock so I ordered a 13 reg. Fit is fine ( surprise surprise). I like the lacing system now ( almost returned the boots because they hurt the top of my left foot when I walked down hill). Finally by trial and error I discovered I needed to tighten the laces less than I suspected then the pain went away. The boots seen to scuff pretty easy but all cosmetic as far as I know. I have not worn the boots for real bird hunts yet but I think they will be good.

Thank you LLBean for offering small enough sizes to fit ladies feet in this boot - they are perfect. I wear a size 7 1/2 ladies shoe. I ordered this boot in a size 5 1/2 - it was a tad short. I exchanged for a size 6 and the fit was perfect. It feels if you are walking on air. I work in them for 10-12 hours a day - my feet never hurt. The no-shoelace is an added bonus - didn't realize how much I would love this feature.

These boots are really light and good looking. I have not had the chance to wear them in really cold weather yet, but they seem warm. Only reason not giving it the 5th star is the pull tab is hard to grab on the rear to pull on the boots.

I have used my LL Bean BOA boots (the grey ones) almost exclusively for the last three years for Grouse, Woodcock, Quail and Pheasant hunting in Maine, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. They are incredibly comfortable, completely waterproof...until.... and totally care free. This past week while Grouse hunting in Maine, I stepped into and got caught in mucky swamp mud (both feet) and had to be pulled out! The outside inner seam on my right boot gave way ... after the water and swamp mud came over the boot top of the boot and my feet became totally water logged. Fortunately, it was at the end of my day's hunt and I had an extra pair of socks in the truck!. I did not notice the split seam until I got home. I called "Beans" to send them back and have them repaired and they told me these boots are not repairable but they would replace them at no charge which they are doing in time for my next hunt this week!
WHY WOULD YOU POSSIBLY BUY YOUR HUNTING BOOTS ANYWHERE ELSE FOR HUNTING ON THIS PLANET?????????????

Rated 5 out of 5áby 1gleather Great Boots but S/H ordered half size larger
I ordered these in size 10 medium width. I've been purchasing Bean boots for many years. They sometimes have stated in descriptions for shoes and boots that you should order a size larger, e.g. Since this boot did not indicate sizes run small I ordered my normal size that I've been wearing most of my 67 years. I thought they would loosen up a bit and be fine. However, I've now walked perhaps 15-20 miles in these boots, including walks in a couple of rainstorms and they have not loosened up in the least. The BOA system is absolutely a wonderful invention and works great. I highly recommend these boots. They are lightweight and feel wonderful. They keep your feet very comfortable and dry. However, in my case, the size 10 is a little to snug. There is no way I can wear a thick winter sock. I must wear relatively thin boot socks with them. Going down hills my toes are right up against the inside.

First off, I love the fit of these boots. I took them to Colorado and bow hunted from 8,000 to 12,000 feet for elk. Yeah, I know these are "upland bird" boots, but hey, I shot several blue grouse while up there after elk, so that counts, right? These boots held up wonderfully and I love the tread. I could really climb with these on. Plenty of support, especially with the BOA lacing system. I could snug the laces tighter for steep up and downhills, and loosen them for level walking. Love the BOA lacing system. No laces to trip over or come untied, and they worked perfect with no problems. They did tend to squeak on the leather after a bit, but I treated the leather with Sno-seal and all that went away. The only other "flaw" if you will was the placement of the rubber pad where the aircraft cable crosses the tongue. I bought 2 pairs of these boots and both are off on the placement of that pad, but it really does not matter much. Something that should be addressed where they are made, but does not impede the function in any way. They are waterproof and the insulation is just right for anyone on the move. Not too much, not too little either. Would I buy these boots again? You bet. I had several other big brand name boots with me on the hunt, none stuck to the mountain or functioned as well as my Technical Kangaroos!
