This is my second pair of these sturdy boots. I wear them in the field where there is often rocky soil. The thick soles really insulate your feet from hard stones and the smooth soles pick up very little loose soil. When new, they do need a break in period to become comfortable. I also have a pair of LL Bean Cresta hiking boots. The engineer boots are better walking on and off pavement and over rocky soil.where you don't want to pick up a lot of soil. The Cresta hiking boots are more comfortable on a steady walk. Both boots are solid value and very long lasting.

Very pleased with this boot. I have special insoles and the removal insole allows for replacement with my insoles. I was concerned that the boot would be to wide however the fit was perfect. Very comfortable right out of the box and a day of walking only improves the comfort. I wear the boots when riding my motorcycle and they give me the protection I was looking for while comfortable for walking. I would recommend without reservation.

This is a great American made boot built on an American last. Therefore, it runs normal sizing. Comfortable, tough and good looking. I wear this boot for work and casual wear.

Bought the cordovan, they fit great and the wide was wide enough for my very wide foot. Sole is solid and provides all day support, leather is heavy and this is a great value! I like it so much I bought a black pair and am just as satisfied with that purchase as the first.

I have bought several pair of wolverine 1000 mile boots and shoes. I bought this pair of Chippewa boots and found them to be every bit as good. I bought them in Cordovan as I felt they are better looking. They don't look like workboots. I wear them for casual dress. I don't often write reviews I felt these boots deserved it .

It is now the end of March and I have been wearing these frequently since November. These are great boots. I appreciate high quality leather footwear. My other shoes are all shell cordovan leather. I ordered these as an alternative to high-priced Alden Indy boots. I am very glad that I did. I have received a number of compliments on these boots, which I wear on bad weather days to the office. I often wear them even on days when the weather prediction is not so bad simply because they are so comfortable. They are attractive under nice trousers but also also functional and comfortable. These have become my favorite footwear for foul or fair weather.

These boots are very well made and with a couple of weeks break-in, they are very comfortable and give great support.

I have had these boots for about two weeks now. I usually wear a 9 dress shoe/boot and 9.5 athletic shoe. I ordered a 9, but could have gone with a 8.5 if I planned on only wearing them with thin socks.
The cordovan color is gorgeous, and the boots have a nice streamlined profile. The Vibram sole is plenty grippy on wet Seattle sidewalks, but does not look too bulky or obtrusive.
For a few days I had to fully unlace the top two sets of eyelets to get my feet in or out, but after that they fit in perfectly with the laces loosened. The break-in period was only 3 or 4 days of wear before these felt incredibly comfortable for all-day wear. I am still only wearing them every other day to give the leather a chance to rest.

Great looking shoe. Very comfortable right out of the box, and will feel better with more breaking in. Very practical in the upper Midwest.
