Rated 2 out of 5 by hoopershelley Try at home first, very tricky to use.
I'm very proficient with outdoor equipment and this item seemed straightforward. It really isn't though, it has almost no instructions in the package. Thank goodness I tried it at home first, many catastrophes: Handle issue (see note that I didn't see regarding folding bag over, still precarious at best). repeatedly. Water everywhere. Cheap plastic handle broke easily when only half full of water. Water everywhere. Slippery bag, impossible to grip especially when wet, even at half full it's heavy and slimy and very hard to handle, repeated dropping and hard to hang or find a surface it won't slide off, when it hits the ground the handle falls off, water everywhere. Strings are nylon, slippery, don't tie easily and are virtually useless. Splat goes the bag, water....well, you know. As for the heating: Water warms to about 20 degrees above ambient temp in 4 hours at 68 degrees, and cools very quickly. Leaks at hose juncture. Hose already has a visible kink and keeps buckling of its own accord, shutting off the meager flow.. Water barely trickles out even when bag is hung high. For what I need it is useless, I need something quick, easy, durable and light weight for overnight camp/hikes, but it may come in handy for the casual tailgate camper who doesn't mind tinkering and retrofitting. And as for showering in a bare trickle...you will get a long shower out of it, anyway... The regular price point of the product at this time is Very inexpensive even without discounts or promotions, but imho you get what you pay for... Thank goodness for LLB's amazing return policy :) I wish they had another product that would be what I needed...

Rated 3 out of 5 by PamRVW Shower time!
It works just great in TX where it gets hot enough to warm the water. The 5 gallon size is too big for 1-2 people and way to heavy to lift up into a tree. I fill it not even half full and that is plenty for a shower. I noticed on the package that there are 2,3,ane 4 gallon sizes. I hope LLBean stocks at least one smaller size!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tarpontout Hot showers on a cold river
I had a call from our Labrador fishing camp a day before our group of eight was to arrive that our hot water heater had 'blown up". Fortunately I had time to stop at Bean and grab two Solar Camp Showers. They saved the day!
They heated to warm in less than two hours, were easy to adjust and fill. Admittedly our showers were brief, but sure better than icey Labrador rivers.

Rated 4 out of 5 Works well
Got to use this a few times since purchased, have no complaints, did the job well. The test will be in it's durability, which appears to be well made from quality materials, time will tell. LLBean shipped it well packaged and prompt, as usual.

Rated 4 out of 5 by bmaxrn Hope it's as good as it looks.
I have yet to use this but will be using it almost daily in a week or so. It looks exactly like the picture and I am assuming it will work for me.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Saviesso major disappointment
This product failed on the first day. I filled it only about 1/2 full and when I went to pick it up after binging in the sun about 3 hours the handle ripped off. The water was nice and warm, but the shower bag it's self did not preform.
I think Bean's should pull this product since it is not at all near the quality one expects from L. L Bean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CoffeeLover123 Life Saver
I purchased this shower for a music festival I was going to when I knew there wouldn't be any way to clean myself save baby wipes. Oh boy am I glad I did.
Easy, eco-friendly, cheap, storable... for anyone who goes on multi-day hikes or goes on adventures that do not allow for a real shower this thing is a life saver. Just make sure you correctly lock the top as we did accidentally dump a bunch of our precious water on the ground on our trial run!

Rated 1 out of 5 by 2255 Poor design
I purchased this to replace the 4 gallon Seattle Sports camp shower. This 5 gallon bag was a major downgrade. After a hard day outside, I was ready to place the bag up high to shower and the handle "Slide Lock" fell off causing water to rush out. Next, the hose fell off. Once I got both pieces back on the "Slide Lock" fell off again. I hope LLbean will offer the older version again when the water is kept in the bag with a screw on lid instead. That was much better.
