This premium microfiber hat features four bright LEDs embedded in its brim, all powered by a solar-charged battery – you'll never have to worry about batteries running out and needing to be replaced. An efficient solar panel on top of the brim charges the NiMH battery, even if it's not in direct sunlight. Two LEDs are angled down to light your hands for close tasks while the other two LEDs point forward to light the path ahead. Battery lasts more than 500 charging cycles. Built-in battery saver turns LEDs off after 15 minutes of inactivity. Hat body made from 100% polyester microfiber. One size fits all. Imported.

Rated 5 out of 5�by Stanislau This little light of mine My wife and I have purchased several of the pathfinder hats and given a good number to our friends and relatives, who love them, as we do, for outdoors in the evenings. One couple uses the pathfinder to help light their way onto a little island that they own. So when we saw that the pathfinder has gone solar, we decided we had to have at least one. So far, it works fine and it has one more light (total of 4) by comparison with the three on the non solar pathfinder. We believe that it will largely repay us for the purchase because we don't have to buy those expensive batteries for it, as was true of the ordinary pathfinder, and we can keep it charged by exposure to the light, so it's brightness won't fade as the batteries dim(as is true with the oriiginal pathfinder). Very good value, very good product. Because it does away with the batteries, I'm sure we will be buying more of them. March 3, 2013

This POWERCAP Solar Rechargable Lighted hat sure fits the bill. Since it recharges during the day while I am wearing it to keep the sun off my head, its always charged and ready to go when I am sitting around the campfire at night or packing up my gear in the pre-dawn hours. It was really helpful when I had to make a nature call in the middle of the night!! :) I really like the fact that I don't have to worry about running out of batteries The hat is well made, lightweight and the LED's are super bright. I like the fact that there are lights that point down so I can see what I am doing with my hands or where I am going to step, but also LED's that point out so I can see where I am going. While I bought this hat for outdoor use, I find my self using it while doing home improvement projects around the house too since the light in the hat beats holding a flashlight while fixing things. Cap appearance is a little nerdy looking with low slung style that doesn't quite fit down on the head far enough on windy days, but all in all a strong light for night time barn chores etc. Maybe a restyle or winter model would be advised.
