I love it. It took some time to remove the tea basket. It kept my tea warm for 3 hours.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OldTimeyModern The Greatest Tea Mug Ever
Absolutely lives up to the description. I commute an hour to work only to arrive with (at best) a luke-warm beverage. I've been on the search for a mug that would hold the heat; and this is it! The tea basket is sturdy and does the job - or easily snaps off for coffee or soup. Super easy to clean too. My tea is piping hot at my desk and is steaming hot hours later. This is the greatest tea mug ever.

for one thing i thought it was going to be a little bigger around than it was. then, there are 2 screw on parts, one for the part you drink from and a cap that goes on top of that. to unscrew one you unscrewed both cause they screw in the same direction which was inconvenient when you just wanted to take a sip, you had to fight to keep the lower cap on. i never used the filter part cause i make my tea in a bigger cup in the am. and pour it to the travel cup. i used it the one time. i wanted to send it back, but the shipping to send it back ($6.50) was almost as much as i paid for it($9.81)with a coupon i had. if i send it back it will cost me 6.50 and i won't have anything to show for it. they say free shipping but they don't tell you that if you have to send it back it's going to cost you

Perfect for tea lovers! Keeps tea hot for long time. Great idea. Only wish there was a larger size so I could double up for longer trips!

At last I have found a container which keeps my cup of tea at the right temperature. It also fits into the cup holder of the car. These two factors were critical in making my decision to buy and write this review. And the last, but most important detail, it makes a good cup of tea.

This was a birthday gift for a person who loves tea. They were very pleased with the quality and appreciated having their name engraved on the tea mug.

I use mine for coffee instead of tea, but it honestly kept my coffee hot for hours. Best travel mug I have found so far, and cheaper in price than the Teavana model.

For years, I have loved LL Bean and its quality products, which is why I was rather surprised at poor design of the 12 oz. tea culture vacuum mug.
Being an avid tea drinker (I use loose tea leaves from a specialty tea store), I have purchased several insulated tea tumblers, thermoses, and mugs over the years. I really liked the previous (16 oz.) one (purchased from the specialty tea store), but the snap/pop-up lid broke and I needed a new one.
I was therefore excited to see this new tea mug from LL Bean, despite it being only 12 oz.). I have to dump part of my (expensive) tea down the drain to allow for creamer or milk to be added in order to be able to screw-on the lid without it spilling out of the lid. The tea basket holes are too big; loose tea leaves come out and fall into bottom of the mug. It should have been made from a drop-down mesh basket (it's frustrating to try to snap-off a basket of hot tea leaves from the lid). I no longer use the basket, but rather, brew my tea in a separate tea infuser and then drain it over top the LL Bean mug to take along with me. That takes up too much time in the morning when I'm in a hurry; alas, my search continues for the perfect tea tumbler/thermos.
Lastly, at the risk of sounding ignorant, I wanted to comment that it would be nice if LL Bean had included a short blurb or picture of how to properly use the tea basket, since the first 1-star reviewer seemed to keep it in tact while drinking the tea, while I removed it prior to drinking the tea (how did LL Bean design it to be used properly; perhaps we are doing something wrong?). Thanks for listening, LL Bean!

I bought this for my dad's BD. He loves it. Everything is what it described. The only thing that bothers my dad is, it is not so easy to open and close. But once you get use to it, there is not a big problem.

I have a couple of these and really like them. While you do have to unscrew the top to drink, that means there is also not a vent in the lid and so it is completely leak free, even if upside down. It can be used for any hot or cold drink - the tea basket pops off (it has to pop off for filling or cleaning anyway). It's vacuum walled so keeps drinks hot or cold for a long time - that is actually a little of a drawback as if the tea is too hot to drink right away, in a half hour it will still be too hot to drink. When I use if for loose tea, I make the tea and then remove the basket after it is sufficiently steeped so it doesn't get bitter - I haven't tried to drink through the basket as the previous reviewer did. It is not so easy to find loose tea anymore so I mostly use bags in the normal way and throw them away, leaving the basket at home. No idea what the previous reviewer meant about sharp edges - everywhere you drink is smooth plastic. I actually really like to take it when traveling by air because it won't leak - after I go through security I can fill it with water from the drinking fountain and avoid also bringing a water bottle, and most hotels have coffee/tea stations in the lobby.
