I purchased this around Labor day and I have tried it out on three different occasions at home to get the feel of it for my future camping trip. I like it a lot. It does not take long for it to get a good flame going. You will need to feed it it often with pieces of wood, I did find on YouTube someone who used wood pellets and they do work. I tried bark the first time got a lot of smoke at first, second time twigs and pellets less smoke. Third time I used twigs only, lots!!!! The heat that this little stove gives off is incredible. I am looking forward to seeing how it feels when the temps outdoors really drop.
I did try charging my phone & my Kindle Fire and It does show it charging. I did not let it burn long enough to say how much more battery life or how long it took to charge either of the mentioned electronics. I had the fan on Low & got the green light. It did display the charging symbol for both when plugged in. I bought this for camping the charging was a bonus. I will be using this at my campsite, not sure it would be my stove for log distance hiking and camping due to the bulkiness of it. I just noticed LLB now has the Kettle will be ordering it as well. Nice Product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Skabo Amazing little stove, works as advertised!
This stove was extremely easy to light with small sticks and parts of the cardboard box it came in. There was little to no smoke even during start-up and the green charging light came on within minutes with the fan still on low. High puts out a ton of heat and goes through fuel more quickly. I will most often use the low setting as it is still a very hot fire. I have burned sticks and some wood pellets. Both work well. Cleanup was simple. Very well designed and made. Should hold up for a long time.

by MotoCamper Great Stove
After opening the box I read all instructions and watched a few youtube videos. I then conditioned the battery for six hours. I burned one fire just to check how easy it is to get started. It is very easy. Can be done without the fire starter they provide. The second fire was used to boil water. I boiled a 1-1/2 cups in about 4 minutes at almost 6000 feet msl. The third burn was to test charging. The light went green soon after the fan was turned to high. I was able to charge my Blackberry. I then conducted a test with my hand held GPS. I removed the battery from the GPS and connected it to the stove with a USB cable. I was able to operate the GPS without batteries.
I have never liked carrying fuel for stoves. All the places I camp have at least some small sticks to burn most have a lot of wood. This stove should make my trips safer and cleaner.

Very easy to use.
I was able to start the fire with absolutely no trouble whatsoever.
It worked well and as Iused barkless wood, there was no smoke at all. Plenty hot enough for any and all cooking.
I also hooked up the grill attachment and grilled chicken. The chicken was a little too smoke tasting. I trimmed off the outer char and the chicken was absolutely wonderful. I will wrap the chicken loosley in foil next time and finish it off on the open grill.
The clean up of the stove was very easy.
I used chunks of hardwood instead of sticks and twigs.
I think this is the ultimate camp stove as no fuel is needed to be bought or carried. Generates it`s own electricity for the fan and will recharge your iphone at the same time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by scorpman Good stove to have
Before buying this stove, I read lots of reviews on many web sites. Some good, some bad. I decided to buy this stove as it seams like it fits my needs. If you are the type of hiker/camper that cuts the tags out of your clothes and takes the handle off your toothbrush to save weight, this might not be for you since it does have some weight. If you are feeding this stove pinecones and softwood twigs, it will eat them quickly so have a pile prepared. You will get a longer and better burn if you choose some hardwood pieces once it is going. With the fan on High, this is like a rocket engine going. It gives off good heat and light and charged my iPod Touch. There was little ash at the end of the night.
Do not throw in a handful of acorns, they smoke like crazy!

I first saw an experimental home stove with electric generation capacity at Colorado State University Alternative Energy Development. This unit is real genius and I like it very much. We travel the back country of the Desert Southwest and this is ideal. Where you fuel is limited and for low impact you can cook and power your cell phone, wireless internet and so on. It works great! A real buy in my book! Enjoy!
