Rated 3 out of 5áby LizSH Temperature Rating Off
Let me start off by saying I LOVE LL Bean. I have a number of their products, their lifetime guarantee can't be beat, and their organization is wonderful. That said, I was underwhelmed by this sleeping bag. It's lightweight, which is great, but I was freezing in this bag at temperatures of 45-50. This bag is fine if there's no wind, and it's maybe in the 50s or higher. If it's colder than that, you're going to need to layer up quite a bit. I also sleep cold, so for some of the warm-blooded sleepers, this might not be an issue. But if you're like me and get chilly at night, you're going to want a warmer bag. Price is great, though, and quality is great as well. The temperature rating was just off for me.

Rated 1 out of 5áby KelleyMT No where close to temperature rating
I chose LL Bean because I have 20-year-old LL Bean Sleeping bag that is still awesome! The ultralight is nowhere near the temperature rating. I run hot, and used the bag in a tent overnight (with plenty of layers on), when the overnight temp went down to 40 - and I FROZE. Disappointed that the temp rating is not as advertised.

Rated 3 out of 5áby MahwahTBird Light, easy to pack, not very warm
Used this sleeping bag in northern NJ in mid-May. It is very easy to pack in the stuff sack, it has plenty of room, it packs up very light and small. However, it is not that warm. It is rated at 35 degrees. The night temperature got down to about 42 and I had 3 shirt layers on and sweatpants and was still shivering. Had to get completely inside and cinch the hood (which is a nice feature). While overall I like the bag, it is not good for moderately cold weather.

Although I have not gotten a chance to truly use this bag, my opening of the box inspection, I am sure it will be great. I am 6'1" and 225 lbs, and find most bags too short and constrictive, but not this one! Lots of chest room, and length, and being a semi-rectangular mummy, doesn't make it feel like a straight jacket! Looking forward to using it in my Hennessy Hammock tent this summer!

Rated 4 out of 5áby CraigBoston great for the value
i was amazed how light this bag is. I haven't tried it in < 45F temps yet to see how it works, but I would guess you'd need wear thermals below 40F.
I really like that LLB included a compact stuff sack, a large storage sack to avoid long term compression, AND hanging straps as the default offering. Other vendors would probably charge you extra for the storage sack.

Let me start off by saying I am an avid crazy hiker. I go in all weather: rain, snow, sleet, -30, 90. I love this bag for everything. It is the lightest and warmest bag you will find for this price. I would normally pay over $400 for a down bag that is this light and warm. It is so light that I don't even tell its there. It's very compressible. I've taken it camping in winter and been just fine. It is definitely a little hot when it gets warmer, so I just lay on top or drape it over like a blanket. It is very roomy. I am 6' 3" and I have TONS of room. I struggle to find a bag I can even fit in and have it zipped at the same time. I can roll around in it and wear multiple warm layers. The hood is a good size and it cinches down to a comfortable size. I get a little cramped when the hood is too tight around my face, but I never feel that. If you are looking for a good bag and don't have much of a budget, this is the one.

Rated 4 out of 5áby SacramentoJon Very functional for backpacking
As this sleeping bag is only rated at 35 degrees, it is not suitable for high altitude hikes unless you are wearing a thermal base layer. But it is very light and compactable. Fits nicely in a standard cylindrical "bear box" for packing.

Rated 5 out of 5áby Palmarsh Ultralight sleeping bag
I bought this for my husband who finally agreed to relinquish his 40 year old sleeping bag. Once again, LL Bean has created a quality item. He loves his new bag. But there is only one issue, my husband is 6' and he needed to exchange the shorter (recommended by LL Bean) size for the longer version.
