I bought this paddle one month ago. I liked until I was using it and was mid-stroke and the handle literally sheared off in my hand causing me to face plant into the water and lose my LLBean sunglasses. At over $220 I would have thought this paddle would have help up better. Now I am out ~$319 ($220 for paddle + $99 LLBean Glasses).

I love the look of this paddle, and the weight is pretty decent for an adjustable one. However, the method of adjustment is the little holes. It makes the actual handle part that is in your hand "wobbly" due to the slippage that exists due to the hole system. Some use a clip or friction system, and those don't have that wobble. I am returning it, unfortunately.

I used this paddle today for the first time. Prior to getting started on a SUP, I've canoed extensively, and the length of the shaft of an SUP paddle and the size of the blade takes some getting used to. This Bic paddle is very light weight and I suffered no arm fatigue from using it in a current and with a persistent light wind for more than 1 hour. I like the balance it has in my hands. I think the blade might be a little springy which might help transmit the energy in the stroke to forward momentum.

Gave it a tough work out on a SUP in 15 mph wind, and it held up. The mechanism that adjusts the length is a little stiff for me (especially when I forget to adjust before I get on the board), but it doesn't slip after it's adjusted, and that is important.
