Rated 5 out of 5 by entropy13 BRING BACK THE PLUS SIZE LINEN BIG SHIRT!!!
I bought this shirt in several colors (all the ones I could tolerate) and wore them all out, and now they don't sell it in plus sizes anymore. So sad! I check back every few weeks, hoping against hope...but so far, no.
The fit was casual and perfect (well, the sleeves could have stood to be another inch longer), and I loved the material. The colors were a mixed bag for my tastes, but the minty green, indigo, and lavender were lovely. Now I'm regretting not braving the sky blue (even though it's not a favorite). The cost seemed on the high side until I realized how much wear I got out of these (years each, at least!)
Seriously hoping they bring it back!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rebushka Mixed feelings about this shirt
"Big" in the name is misleading as the Medium was short in the yoke and sleeves for LL Bean standards. The cuffs seemed to be cut on a weird diagonal and are short. The colours that I bought were stunning in real life, the pale blue and the natural linen colour. I'll try the large and hope it fits better because it was a beautiful shirt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by retiredCAteacher a beautiful, feminine shirt
This shirt is very beautiful, lightweight, feminine and true to size. I got 2 of them. Seriously, get it while you can.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Roseangel Neck too big
I love the beautiful linen in this shirt. Too bad the neck was about two inches too big. Also, it is not a 'big shirt', because it fits like a regular shirt.
I own other linen shirts from Bean, which I love. Too bad I had to send this one back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TallGirlTwo Too close fitting for a "big shirt"
I'm 5' 10" tall and evenly proportioned. I bought this shirt in my usual size, a large, to wear over tank tops with my summer khakis. This shirt does not provide the loose comfortable fit I usually associate with "big shirts". It is more fitted. For me, the sleeves and arm holes are too narrow to allow for unconstrained movement. I'm reluctantly returning the shirt. I say reluctantly because I like the medium weight linen fabric and I love the print. Apart from the too narrow a fit issue, the only other detractor is the fact that the pocket is a bit too big and ill placed. I'd have been willing to overlook that if the fit wasn't so close.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Skysailor bottom hem rolled up
The fit is good, the color (indigo) just what I wanted, and I like the cut of the shirt... BUT. It keeps rumpling. This does not seem to be due to a weight issue (a number of posters said the fabric was too light) but the bottom hem keep rolling up. So if you don't like to iron every time you wear linen,... the shirt will keep getting shorter and shorter. Sorry Bean, you will get this back. Something in the processing, or overall quality is causing this to respond as if it is the weight of tissue paper, though it is not.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MsPetite Big enough for my "big girls"
Overall I am quite pleased with these shirts. I'm very short, just 5'0", and the sleeve and body length work for me. Best of all, the cut is roomy enough to fit a 42" chest with plenty of ease. I went with size Petite Large.
The fabric weight is heavier than tissue linen big shirts a prominent competing women's clothing catalog merchant offers in petite. The LLB shirts are more tightly woven and perhaps a little warm for a day over 70 degrees. I like the fit of the LLB ones better than those others, though. The indigo blue color is terrific, sort of a dusty gray blue, not as dark as indigo blue jeans. Looks nicely contrasty if worn with black. The natural color is great, too, no bothersome yellow cast.
The two things that lost this shirt a star are the collar design and the sleeve width, both of which are cut like the corduroy big shirts.
The collar likes to flare out and slide back, for a kind of oddly winged look. Not great. I think the issue causing this is that the collar band is not quite long enough for the size.
I'm not skinny by any means, but the circumference of the upper arm on this shirt is quite loose on me. The loose sleeves allow for a long-sleeved tee shirt underneath, but if one is wearing a short-sleeved tee, the sleeves look really baggy in a not-very-attractive way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by filumena2 Great Big Shirt..............
Don't mean that this is a great big shirt sizewise but mean....This big linen shirt is just great. True to size and not too big like other vendors big shirts....Just right. The solid colors are beautiful. Hard to choose just one.Got mine in the blue opal, which is a light sea foamy shade. Know I'll get a lot of wear from this terrific big shirt. You done it again llbean...Another great garment from llbean!

Rated 4 out of 5 by bunnywhisperer Lovely but not for me
I ordered the linen big shirt in Cirrus Blue--beautiful color and a good weight for the linen. However, the collar is a little too high and kind of sticks out. The pocket seems to be placed too high as well, at least for me. I'm a petite small and have no real body issues, but this shirt only looks nice off. I will be returning it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Diannewoof Wilted after 1 hour
I loved the feel of the fabric and the color. The fit was true to size. Unfortunately, the shirt and matching shell looked terrible after just a short time - not just "relaxed" like linen looks (which I like) but actually wilted and sloppy. I was disappointed.
