Rated 4 out of 5 by copperthedog excellent and versatile cyclling jacket
This shell's main advantages is its versatility. The fact that it easily converts to a full jacket, a vest, or a little pouch around your waist makes it essential for long rides when the weather changes (like an early morning start and a mid-day finish)
The back pocket is roomy and when its folded up the waistband is very comfortable and secure.
It is not very water repellent, so in the rain it is not as good a choice as a true rain shell, But as a wind breaker it's excellent, and does provide some protection from light drizzle. When wet, it does dry quickly.

too narrow at the hip. The photo of the jacket shows a two way zipper and it is not. A two way zipper is needed when biking.

Love the jacket but needed to send it back because the XL was much too tight around the waist and hips. I typically wear a size XL, and sometimes size L, in LL Bean products.

I bought this jacket and have worn it while running this winter. I like the long cut because it keeps the wind off my lower back.
I am 5'6" and 127lbs (size 2-4) and bought the medium size based on reviewer comments about the narrow hem. The narrow cut means there's less fabric to flap around in the wind when you're cycling, and more efficient insulation when running in cool/cold weather.
The bright yellow-green is just what I need to be more visible to drivers.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FinnH Good cycling jacket
I bought this jacket to wear biking to work & back (about 18 miles/day) in city traffic. I got the lime green because I noticed that other bikers were more easily spotted in low-light conditions if they wore fluorescent colors.
Things I like about the jacket:
- Lots of reflective piping, front & back, aiding visibility
- Zippered pockets to keep my stuff from falling out
- Good wind protection
- Sleeves zip off if I want a visibility vest with pockets in warmer weather
- Shoulder reflective piping stays on when the sleeves are removed
- Big pocket on lower back
Things I don't like:
- The wind flap behind the jacket zipper frequently gets caught in the zipper, jamming it

This is a very nice jacket but is sized very small over the hips. I was very disappointed. The sizing chart does not give waist and hip measurements which is poor as this is important for determining fit. The top fit nicely but was way too tight over the hips. I wish it could be redesigned with a more hourglass shape instead of such an athletic fit.

I'll say for this jacket what I said about the Men's Eclypse jacket. The sizing is perfect. I did not know whether to buy "big" or actual size Small. I took a chance and got the Small; it looks perfect. All the "nooks and crannies"---pockets/zippers, etc., are amazing. It's incredibly lightweight. This is a Christmas gift; I'm sure recipient will love it.

The medium was too small and large was bigger but in the wrong places, like cuffs. Overall good material, but sizing was off.

Rated 2 out of 5 by LivingNC Too narrow cut and very thin fabric
I was hoping to be able to use this jacket for running and biking, but I found it to be cut too narrow. I normally wear a S/M at LL Bean and ordered this in a M. It fit, but because the fabric doesn't give it was not comfortable for exercise. Also the fabric seemed much more sheer than in this picture and I worried about durability.
