It's refreshing to finally find a nightgown where an XS really fits like an XS. Furthermore, I applaud L.L. Bean for even carrying an XS. Too many times have I gone shopping for nightgowns and rarely is an XS even offered, but there is a 1X, 2X, and so on. It's a modern cut nightgown that falls slightly above the knees and is comfortably fitted. It's beautiful, soft, and doesn't look like something my grandmother would wear. Perfect!

I bought two and love the fabric--very, very silky. I also like the styling, especially the gathers in front--it gives a very feminine look. The one thing I am dissatisfied with is the sizing--it is far too fitted for nightwear, but I like everything else about them so I'm keeping them anyway. I got the white rose floral and it is absolutely lovely! And thank you for printing the label instead of sewing it on.

I am now purchasing my 3rd of this item. It is soft and not 'clingy' as one reviewer said. It is a soft, flexible cotton. I'm 5'4", size 8 in clothes and get mediums in this item. I don't need sexy, I need comfort to sleep. I love the neckline, not too high but not too low either. I run hot so have been wearing these all winter on LI, NY. Because I also have had other Bean nightgowns shrink too short, I haven't put these in the dryer, just wash in cold water and hang and they are like new. I highly recommend.

Though I give the designers props for trying to add feminine touches to this, from my perspective the neckline gathers are aging to the wearer. The gown is comfortable and soft but I'd not order another of these until the neckline is modernized. If the deep U-shape were cut higher, it would help, I think.

I have purchased night gowns in the past from LLBean that have shrunk quite a bit. I have one or two that has kept its length and shape somewhat so I thought I would try again. Can't you just charge a little more and have them made in USA of a material that will withstand washings/drying without shrinkage and the sizing is consistent? I received two nightgowns from my husband this past Christmas. I will be returning because of shrinkage. Very disappointed.

i am a big girl so naturally i ordered a XL. i should of heeded the warning and ordered a large, I think they run big and it ran past my knee, i have washed it a couple of times and it has shrunk a little. it knows hit 1/2 inch above my knee. which is good because i did not want to look like an old lady in this. i am in my mid 30's and wanted to look nice. the only thing that i do not like is the shape, i look like i am wearing a sack of potatoes, the nightgown has no shape to it and i think it is a little unflattering. even though i am big and glad it does not cling to me. the color is pretty and the materiel is lightweight and very soft. we had a very warm winter so this was perfect. it washes very easily and dries well.

I don't think the fabric is as good as the old ones I have. There is far less ease of movement, because the nightgowns are now cut much shorter and tighter. Had to return them. Disappointed! I'm used to quality since 1961 from LL Bean. I 'm convinced their sizing is way off.

I've worn these nightgowns for years and have loved the fabric and style. The shirred neckline was in for a couple of years though to me it's unattractive. Wish Bean would drop it.

I love wearing this nightgown. The supima cotton is very soft and cool, so it's perfect for sleeping. I even wear it in the winter sometimes with pj bottoms. I usually wear an xs and the xs fits perfectly, not too big or too small. It does fall above my knees, which I thought it would when I bought it. Even though I would like it better a little longer, it has washed very well and I'm glad I bought it. I really like the scoopneck on the short sleeve, which does not seem to fall so low as the vneck does on the 3/4 sleeve nightgown.

Looks better off than on.
The cut and the neckline are not very flattering if you have a chest. I would prefer fabric that was "silkier" and not so "clingy." My five year old asked me if I were wearing a hospital gown.
