Rated 5 out of 5 by InlandNorthwest Excellent for running
I love this shirt....I run in it regularly. It's great alone in cool weather (45 degrees or so) and when the temp gets below 40 I add a light jacket. The shirt breathes well, and I love the thumbholes, especially when it's cool. They allow me to protect my hands a little. I also really appreciate the small pocket in the back, where I store by car key and license. I'm 5'4" and 135 pounds; a medium is generous on me. Please keep this shirt just as it is; I'll be looking for more colors next spring.

Love the look, feel and UV protection of this top. The sleeves and thumb hole are just a touch too short for me but not a deal breaker. Another 1/2 to 3/4 inch and they would be perfect.

I was given this shirt when the first edition came out several years ago. I immediately bought it in all colors. And I have recommended it to many friends who wear long sleeved shirts for sun protection in the Florida sun. After many washings I emailed customer service about how many washings I could expect the SPF to last through. Within minutes, late at night, I received an answer that, while the industry standard is x (sorry I forget the exact number), these shirts will last longer.
I have bought the new model also in all colors, only because I felt like it was time to replace the others.

This pullover is going to be a new staple in my closet! I love the feel, the fit and the look. It is practical and flattering. I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the thumb cuffs, but the arm hole is small enough so I can pull up the sleeve past my wrist and it won't fall down over my hand. Love, love, love this shirt! Only thing I would ask for is more color choices. I will be buying more!

It has only been this summer that I've realized the true glory of this shirt. I wore it while at the beach house - bike riding every day in the sun. It really does provide excellent UV protection - much better than any sunscreen on the market. I'm also a flight instructor in Florida and am outside a lot. I'm pretty sure that wearing this shirt is no hotter than wearing nothing. Probably a bit cooler, since your skin doesn't get cooked in the process. You can feel the breeze blow right through it. I have also occasionally gone straight from flight instructing to a Rotary meeting in my nice shirt - no problem. And here's another fun detail. After a hard bike ride, I would hang up my stinky shirt to dry and air out. By that afternoon, the shirt would no longer stink. I am wearing my blue one right now. I will say that the sizes have changed. The shirt has gotten bigger through its various iterations. I now have to order an XS instead of a S.

Rated 4 out of 5 by redfoxglove Kelly green
I have bought 4 or 5 of these altogether. The color listed above as 'palm green" is more like Kelly green. Somewhere between lime and grass. Not a sage looking green like the picture. It's okay with me, I like just about any green. But might not have picked this green if I saw it in person first. For sporting clothes, bicycling, golf, outdoor things it will be okay, but not a neutral green that can go anywhere by my taste. It's not going back because I don't want to pay for the shipping.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dskRN BeanSport quarter zip
I purchased the shirt in black for motorcycle riding. In summer the UPF 40 protects my neck and arms from the sun's damaging UV rays and is not hot due to the wonderful fabric. The fit is not the athletic slim that many sportswear companies offer today so the shirt is roomy and comfortable. The little zipper garage keeps it from scratching my neck when in the up position, the dropped tail assures that it will stay tucked in to my jeans, and the thumb holes are helpful to slip into a jacket. I also use the thumb holes when I have riding gloves on to keep wind from going up my arm. It meets my needs perfectly and looks great.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ktfd1 No thumbholes please
I wear last year's version of this Beansport quarter-zip top for biking and golfing. Perfect for days with wind, sun, and/or light rain. Since I wear a golf glove or fingerless biking gloves during my activities, there is no need for the sleeve to have a thumbhole in it. They just get in the way and feel bulky. I feel like I am putting on a top to go cross-country skiing (which is fine in the wintertime). Please bring back last year's version of the quarter-zip top with the regular sleeves. I loved last year's material, weight, coverage, and ease of washability. It was far superior. Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by anniembs perfect for my run
Bought this recently and wore it on my run this afternoon. It was a little on the cool side today (50 - 52 degrees) but I wore just this over my sports bra. Shirt was perfect! I probably could have gone with a small but prefer my tops loose fitting ( 5'5. 130 lbs.... I have broad shoulders and longish arms so smalls are usually too short in the arms for me) I would love to order more but find that it's already sold out in many colors. Hopefully this is just temporary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SoCalWalker Love These Shirts!
I love these shirts. They are perfect for sun protection in hot weather because they are very breathable and don't feel soggy. I have two in fun colors (purple and turquoise), and have worn them hiking in southern California and on a tropical island vacation. The long sleeve cuff length is great because it protects my hands from the sun, but can be rolled up if I don't need the extra length. I don't use the thumb hole. The sleeves are loose enough to push up to my elbows. The neck zipper is very useful. The little zipper pocket is a nice touch, and I like having the antimicrobial finish. I'm tempted to buy another one in case they're changed for the worse in future years.
