I bought this jacket when looking for a versatile piece that I could throw on for anything from kayaking to hanging out at home, and it definitely is that. It is made with the quality that I have come to expect from L.L. Bean - beautifully made and sturdy (with an 18mo child that loves to pull on the zipper over and over). It protects from the wind nicely, and is that perfect in-between layer that I was looking for. The color - I ordered the Blue Pine - is a luminous teal color, just as it looks online.
The only reason that I give this jacket 4 stars instead of 5 is the fit. From other reviews and the product description, I understood that the jacket was long, at that certainly is true. (For context, I am 5'-7" and about 130lbs.) The jacket reaches to my hips, but that doesn't bother me in the least. My only issue is that it really isn't fitted through the waist - it's a bit bulky, with only minimal shaping. I wish it were more flattering, especially considering that when I have anything in the pockets, the jacket rides up a bit and bunches further right around the mid-section.
However, for me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and I have worn it almost every day since receiving it.
If you are looking for something fitted, I would look at something else, but otherwise, I would certainly recommend this jacket.

This is great for layering! The fabric is very smooth so the sleeves easily slide into another warmer layer if needed. It is a very comfortable, lightweight option for cool days when the bright color makes you feel like it's summertime, though you still need an outer layer over a t-shirt for warmth. It is on the long side so it still covers the waistline when lifting my arms, showing no midriff gap.

I purchased this jacket to wear to a four-day fitness convention. It's perfect for my needs. It fit perfectly and will be comfortable not only the convention but for all-purpose use when I return.

Since I already own almost everything "fitness" I ordered this mid weight jacket to go along with it. It's of exceptional quality and style and matches the shorts, pants and dress. I will get years of use out of this jacket. Highly recommend it for casual and fitness wear. LL Bean, please don't change a thing!

This is a great jacket for that cooler day. Fabric is good quality. Fits true to size( I ordered a small) except the length is longer that I expected. It falls at low hip. But overall I am happy with it.

I needed a lightweight jacket I could throw on and off while running errands. This fits the bill. It's comfortable, love the stretchy fabric and it washes well. Similar jackets with this type of material are form fitting and not at all flattering when you zipper up unless you've got perfect flat abs. This jacket isn't too tight or too loose fitting. It's just right, even when you zipper up. I wish it came in petite sizes and with more color options. I am 5'3" and the length and sleeves were a bit long but still ok. I would have preferred a shorter petite length.

I love this jacket. It is so soft, nice fit, bit longer to cover the behind a bit, I wear it running as well as just around it is just that comfortable. I may have to buy another one!

Bought this jacket in a large because I own 2 of the hooded jackets that appear to be like this in large and they fit fine....although a petite size would be better for me. This one is absolutely huge and will have to be returned. I think I could actually go with a small in this one.
I really wish that these jackets would come in petite since that is what I need. It would be great if LLBean would do this for those of us who are petite!

I have this jacket in the older style with a hood, which I love. I will order a second one, but wish they would bring back the one with a hood. The small fits perfectly on my 5'2" 125 pounds. I like the thumb holes on chilly days. It never wrinkles and washes & dries easily in the machine. I always take it with me on the airplane in case it's cold, because it's the perfect size for my backpack and keeps me warm. It's the perfect traveling jacket.
