This shirt is exactly what I was looking for. I normally wear a medium and am very pleased with the fit of this shirt. I can wear it either as an overshirt with a long sleeved T-shirt or by itself. The fit is feminine but the plaid is sporty. And VERY comfortable fabric. Thanks L.L.Bean.

Preppy, warm, though tends to be too long in the body but the length with the sleeves is nice to cover the hands, and/or to be pulled over the sweater.

Somehow flannel shirts have become very stylish again, and I love that the Kingfield and Scotch Plaid flannel shirts are available. The flannel is superior to any other flannel shirt that I have seen sold, and I have looked at many. The construction and tailoring of this shirt is beautirully done, with the plaid matching on the sides, placket and pocket. I much prefer the matching plaid to the shirts with the bias cut plaid on the placket and pocket--it just makes for a classier shirt that can even be worn to work with a pullover or cardigan over it. These shirts are warm when layered with a long sleeve top under it, or when worn under a fleece or sweater.
The only thing that prevents the fifth star is the thickness of the fabric. While the fabric is one of the best in recent years, it is still slightly thinner than my personal preference--but that is just because I tend to get cold easily. I do want to add that these shirts are reliably true to size (no need to size up to wear as an over layer either as they allow room for a single layer under) in all of the colors that I have purchased (over 8 of them) over the years.

I ordered two of these soft flannel shirts and have really enjoyed wearing them this winter. I wear these or the washed oxford every day at home. I hope you will offer the black and white plaid next time since I missed out on that color last winter. Thank you for continuing to offer excellent products at reasonable prices.

Here in the Pacific Northwest, it's often damp and chilly from late fall through spring. This flannel shirt is my favorite. I want one in every color. Fit is perfect, The collar doesn't warp or get flimsy with washing and it's so soft. Color and shape are holding up extremely well.

This shirt in light apricot is gorgeous! I have so many LLB flannels and some of them start to look the same after awhile. Not this one. I love the thicker flannel and shirttail hem. I'm 5'4" and got the XS, and it's not too long at all. It's perfect. I plan to cut off the collar buttons like I did on my Scotch plaids. I just couldn't be happier with this shirt and the beautiful color. I much prefer feminine looking plaids, as opposed to ones that look like they came out of the men's department.

During the Summer I bought what was claimed by LLBean to be a "flannel" women's shirt, which is a very pretty rose color, is slightly fitted and has roll up tab sleeves. Nice, very light weight shirt, but no more "flannel" than a summery voile shirt would call itself "flannel.". When I read that the Kingfield flannel shirt was soft, warm and double brushed, I figured it would be another light weight, summery shirt. No! This is the real thing, proud to call itself "flannel." Warm, very soft, thick enough to be warm even in the 30's. Brushed on both sides, and although not fitted with darts, is obviously a woman's flannel, not her boyfriend's oversized shirt. I usually buy XL women's shirts to allow for layering and shrinkage, but the Large fits fine, and actually looks better on than it does on the model. I bought the Sea Thistle on a deep discount, and it has a smaller plaid than what is now on the website, so the smaller pattern looks better than the larger, blockier plaid on the website. Sea Thistle has a narrow line of red, very narrow lines of a dark teal, medium width white areas, and the primary and largest areas are dark lavendar or light purple. Very versatile colors, to wear over various color tees. I live in the mountains of Northern California and it won't be "Spring" until about mid-May, so this flannel shirt will get lots of use!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Cleverbroad2 Super Comfortable Shirt!
This shirt is so soft and the perfect weight for the Texas winter climate--not too heavy and not too light! It washes beautifully and I dried it on low very briefly--no wrinkles and didn't shrink! It appears to be well made so expect it will hold up for many years. I plan to order more in other colors.
