Rated 5 out of 5 by Gracelyn Miles and miles
This is my third pair of new balance walking shoes. They give excellent support. I remove the insert that comes with the shoe and slip in my Rx orthotics. Have no idea how many miles I've covered in them, but do know they're great for a variety of terrains and activities. Hope they'll always be available.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Valentine123 I returned these country walking shoes.
I bought a ladies size 8 with a wide width. I could not get my foot into them they were so small. I returned them right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by pinetree27 Just great!
These shoes are just what I'd hoped they would be. The color is just right, the design is great and, most of all, they are very comfortable! What more could I ask for. I like the way the lower part of the sides are a nice tan color to contrast with the brown.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ShopperAuntie good looking
Starting with the right shoe, I thought I found the perfect fit. It was comfortable, sturdy, and well balanced. But when I put the left shoe on, I had doubts about the fit. It seemed to me that the upper left side of the shoe near the toes didn't have enough space for the little toes. It looked like the curve at that point was too deep. There was too much pressure on those little toes to think it would stretch out and be comfortable in the future. The right shoe didn't have this problem. With much regrets, I returned them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WorkShoes Comfortable, great fit
I have very problematic feet with arthritis and a severe bunion. It takes me a long time to find a pair of shoes that will actually work on my feet all day long. These are great. Gives flexibility to the bunion and they are very comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by A2WV NB959 - Not the shoe it used to be
I've owned two pairs of these, so buying a third pair (I wear them out!) seemed like a safe option. I was wrong. New Balance changed the cut of the heel portion and, as a result, the shoe does not hang on to my heel. The 'dip' at the back (centered above the heel) is 1/4" lower, and the points on each side of the heel are 1/2" shorter, than the previous shoe. Also, the color is darker brown than the previous versions, looking more like a man's shoe (NOT a good look for a woman wearing shorts). What a disappointment. I sent them back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dylan76 Great sneakers
I'm very satisfied with these sneakers. I bought them in a wide width and the fit is great. Some reviewers mentioned that the heel was loose, but I haven't found that. The fit is perfect for me and they are light-perfect for summer.

If you're considering buying these shoes-DON'T!!! Save your money and look for something else. I've worn New Balance shoes for years AND had the pleasure of wearing the prior version of their 959 Country Walker. I was so happy with them, I never hesitated in purchasing another pair. I could always depend on New Balance having the shoe that fit my feet just right and looked great too. For years I've been able to order any pair of their shoes from L.L. Bean with the confidence I was buying a quality product and always more than satisfied with a great fitting shoe. NOT ANYMORE. After this experience I no longer have that confidence. New Balance has clearly decided to cheapen this shoe and then call it improved? Frankly, L.L. Bean should re-examine this product before agreeing to sell any more of them. I think if they did, they would save their customers a lot of trouble and disappointment. I am more than disappointed in this shoe with absolutely nothing to like about it. While they've kept the shoe brown, they've changed every thing else about it with cheaper materials-right down to the shoe laces. The new foot bed is less than comfortable. The shoe wraps around your foot like a cast (as in broken foot type cast) making it rather unattractive and fails to provide the support it claims. I think you'd find a better pair of shoes for $29.99 at your local discount shoe store. I will not buy these shoes again and will have to reconsider whether to buy New Balance again as well as go back to a store to look for a quality, well made, comfortable and supportive shoe for my day to day activities around my rural mountain home. I don't know what happened New Balance, but please go back to making great shoes!
