Unfortunately my dimensions do not fit any of the standard sizes available. I have a 44" chest but also a 44" waist. So, the coat fits my chest but not my waist. Also, my arm length is best in a 34". My neck is 17&1/2". The best size for me is a 44 portly regular which I have been wearing. However the workmanship and material are excellent. I was looking for a lighter sport coat such as my previous LL Bean unlined tropic weight light blue of several years ago. However, this one came the closest to my desires.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MrsHarvey Great lightweight coat
I ordered this coat for my husband, who wanted an unstructured, casual jacket for spring. This coat is very simple in construction -- in a good way -- and it fits very well. I did take off one star because the color "moss," which is what I ordered, looks greenish on the website but in actuality is chocolatey brown. I wish there were more color options for this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Justact A very good jacket...
I was generally very pleased with the Town And Field Blazer. It was my first time purchasing such a specifically sized item from LL Bean. For years I have worn a 50 R in suits and blazers..but have recently lost a good deal of weight. I considered a 48...but I am glad I did not order a 48...as the 50 fits...but only just. So I assume your sizes are cut smaller. (My 50R suits now have a good deal of room in them.) I like casual jackets and sport coats to have some "room" in them...so it is good to know this about the LL Bean sizing.
I work in the theatre and need a jacket that is comfortable for sitting in rehearsals and performances...and has lots of pockets for pens, phone, stop-watch, flashlight, etc. This jacket is right on the money!!!....PLENTY of pockets.
The jacket is very sturdy....maybe a bit TOO heavy...as it will serve as my summer weight work jacket...in the fall and winter I wear tweeds.
Anyway...I am generally very pleased with it.
Thanks!

It is well made and fits properly and is very substantial. I bought this because the linen sport coat does not come in a long... This sports coat is heavier than the linen coat and the travel sports coat... much more field than town in for my taste!

I I ware size 42 R, but on this one size 42R is kind of smaller than regular 42R, size 44 R is kind of big. May be LL Beam needs re-check their size chart, because it happened on other vests, coats and jacket too, I bought.
I have to return the jacket.

I like this coat. It is well made and fits well for a mass produced garment. But it should be advertized as a cotton canvas jacket. It does not look like this on the website, It looks like a wool or gaberdine blazer. I don't mind the roughness and the stiffness of the coat. But that is a matter of taste.
Some years ago I got a couple of Beans half-Norfolk jackets in tweed and corduroy with pleats behind the shoulders to allow free movement of the arms. These are wonderful jackets and should be brought back.

The perfect coat for air travel. Hold all the essentials in safe zippered pockets. Will use for causal or more dress occasions - great fit and fabric.

It did not fit (to short) so am going to give to grandson.
I feel NLB could take return, but think he will get use from it

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pepe2 Good fit, lots of pockets, good color.
Good jacket but the material was to warm for this climate and for my general use. Wished LL still made the tropic weight in blue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JacksSister Tall jacket not proportioned correctly
The materials are nice and my husband really wanted this jacket. However, the sleeves were skimpy and the body was not proportioned for a 6'2" man (we used the measurements given by LL Bean to figure size and ordered the Tall size). It was enough too short to look awkward and cheap. A real shame for a nicely made item.
We ended up returning the jacket.
