Rated 5 out of 5 by Charann REALLY BEAUTIFUL CARDIGAN
Purchased this cardigan for Fall transitional period and really absolutely love it. The quality of the knit and the colors are perfect in every way. This is a cardigan that will truly retain it's shape and not sag nor will the sleeves. I have been wearing it with a solid color tee shirt, but plan to purchase a mock turtleneck in on of the blue colors in this cardigan to wear on cooler days. The colors within the cardigan will work with a number of colors so you will get full utilization pairing it with slacks, capris and skirts. This cardigan is suitable for both casual or a semi-dress or office situation. I would definitely recommend it, by the way I went with the Blue Stripe color in a Large size which was a perfect fit. Have received several compliments on it from the first wearing already!

Rated 3 out of 5 by lilu Good quality, Pretty Colour
This is a very beautiful cardigan that is very well made, but not without some flaws. It is a bit boxy looking. I think because it is so thick it should be longer to balance out the overall appearance. I would only recommend this to my petite friends.

Rated 3 out of 5 by geoskimom Gorgeous colors, but boxy and frumpy on
I practically drooled over the colors and excitedly ordered this cotton sweater in the aquamarine. Indeed, it arrived lush and soft, and in a delightful color. But, on it was a huge disappointment. Boxy, extra fabric under the arms, thick front placket looked great but made buttoning and unbuttoning the smallish pretty, pearly, buttons difficult. Daughter gave it thumbs down, so back it goes. (I do wonder if the shape might have changed with washing and wearing, but as I have way too many sweaters anyway, back it goes.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by mommycozy Soft with attractive colors
I ordered this style next year but returned it due to the boxy shape. This year, I ordered two of these in regular size instead of my usual petite in blush pink and aquamarine colors. I love the softness and beautiful colors of the sweaters.
Having the sweaters longer in regular size certainly helps ease the boxiness.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyHiker101 Just bought a second one.
The striped and highly textured version of this sweater makes it a stunning, eye catching piece. Last year I purchased it in blue. I just received the sienna brick color. It couldn't be more beautiful and complimentary to anyone's skin tone. Thanks Bean.

Before I took the sweater out of the package I noticed the front edge with the buttonholes was not lined up with the other edge of the sweater. It had a scalloped look which I don't think could be pressed out, so it would look odd whether buttoned or unbuttoned. I am 5'6", 115 pounds, and ordered a S. I am not reordering in XS because although the sweater feels heavy, it has a flimsy look. However, the Indigo color was very nice.
This does not in any way effect my satisfaction in LLBean and their products. Speedy delivery also!

Rated 2 out of 5 by magenta Front closure needs a wider seam.
I like the idea of this sweater and was anxious to wear it. However, the buttons are too close to the edge of the material so there is a gap, especially at the bust. I think I ordered the correct size so it's not a matter of being too tight. I wish the designer had set in the buttons as well as provided more material on the seam on the vertical closure in the front. As is, the buttoned-up closure makes the sweater seem flimsy.

I recently ordered this sweater in Aquamarine for an upcoming trip to Scotland. The color is a gorgeous teal; exactly what I was hoping for. The cut is somewhat boxy and runs large making it perfect for layering. It's a nice weight too--not too light but not overly heavy. I ordered a 3X and could probably go down to a 2X, however, never ordering from LL Bean before I had no idea how their sizing runs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JennyBr Wonderful sweater!
So glad I decided to order this. I bought the beautiful dusty mauve, and I couldn't be happer with it. I was afraid it was going to be shorter than I like, but I'm 5'4" , 155 lbs, and the large hits at my lower hip. Fits perfectly, very comfortable, and warm! I would have to agree the the buttons are very awkward to use, but I almost never button my cardigans (in fact most of mine don't even have buttons) so not a problem for me. They are very pretty but too thin with this thicker guage sweater, in my opinion. Love this, but will try to fight the urge to buy another, as I already have quite a few cardigans.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CrueltyFreeShopper Wonderful cardigan - will buy more
I have been replacing the clothes in my wardrobe that incorporate wool or other animal products with cruelty-free options, so I was in the market for several cardigans. I bought several different styles from LL Bean in different colors and fabrics, but this marled cotton cardigan in grey is my favourite of the group. I like the mid-hip length, the medium weight (warm, but not too warm) and the streamlined look. Best of all, the grey is a really lovely silvery-grey color, which works well with my skin tones (and increasingly grey hair). I find sometimes that grey/grey marl can be a a very dull colour, but this grey is a nice bright, clear grey (without being garish). I plan to buy a couple of other cardigans in this style in other colors to restock my wardrobe. The only minor quibble I have is that the buttons are a bit difficult to button and unbutton - it's not a problem for me, but if your fingers are stiff (e.g., arthritis), you might find it difficult to work the buttons. I just plan to leave it open most of the time.
