This is a great dress. I am 5'4" 150 pounds and bought the Large regular. It fits great and falls below the knee. I wear a tank underneath to fill in the V-neck gap and it looks great. It is extremely comfortable as well as easy to care for. I like the empire style since I carry weight at the waistline. I pair it with a shorter length cardigan when necessary. Highly recommend.

I don't understand the negative review comments about the low neckline. I always wear a matching-color camisole underneath, without having any worries about too much exposure.
The dress fits well and is dressy enough or casual enough to wear almost anywhere, with the appropriate shoes, jacket or jewelry. It's slightly longer than I would prefer, but that's better than being too short - I might hem it at some point.
I washed it at least twice without any negative effects and line-dried it.

I have 9 of these dresses. I love the style, the feel of the soft fabric, and the modest length. The length is still modest when I had to order a petite in a particular pattern I wanted. I find with these dresses it is easier to throw on than shorts/capris and head out the door.

Love the style of this dress. Very comfortable material. Unfortunately, it is not for ladies that are very buxomly inclined.
Sorry I had to return it. No other size would do the trick either, I'm sure.

Rated 1 out of 5 by msfrogladie buyer beware: poor quality
I read good and bad reviews for this dress but purchased it anyway because LL Bean has such a good reputation. The dress is comfortable. The V is low. I sewed it up a little and that helped. I wore the dress to the zoo and a stranger came up to me and asked me if I knew that there were holes in the seams of my dress? I went into the restroom and on both sides there were spots where the manufacturer has not sewn the seam correctly. Each area missed was a good three inches big. It was like having slits. Those at the zoo got a good look at my bra and underpants. How it got through quality control I do not know unless this was a second. Still, I liked the color so I repaired the seams. I washed the dress in cold water /gentle cycle ( no dryer). The dress came out misshapen and unwearable. I should have paid attention to the negative reviews.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stylishgrammy Amazing fit, style, comfort, size, length
I just bought this dress in Navy along with the fine gauge button up cardigan sweater in White and I was so impressed with the style, the fit, the comfort, the size and the length. It is very stylish to wear to work and I received so many compliments, I am 5'8" 145 lbs and a size 8. It fit perfectly and the white sweater really made the outfit classy. I am thinking of getting another one, but the only colors I see are printed.

by FSUGirl I love this dress!
I'm going to join the dress lover list. I am about 5'7" & almost 140lbs. I got the Ember color and I absolutely love it. It looks just like the picture. The neckline is a little low, but it's typical of that style and it's not that bad. I'm even currently wearing it at work... and have received two compliments from female co-workers. It teeters on the line of being a little too casual for work, but it's perfect for a warm day - lightweight & flows nicely (I brought a short sleeve jacket, but haven't put it on). The uncomfortable part expressed by some must have to do with body type because I see nothing uncomfortable about the dress; it's just the opposite for me. I've only washed it once & see no change in color. It's not super high quality, but it really is a great little summer dress... I'm only disappointed because I think the price dropped since I bought it. Hmmm.... might have to buy another! :) Adding a quick photo I just took for reference...

Rated 2 out of 5 by shopper266 summer dress fail
I should have believed the reviews that cited the very low neckline and itchy, uncomfortable waist band plus overall poor quality. I kept hoping it would fit differently on me. No such luck. Unless one has a very long torso, the neckline just doesn't work (in public anyway). The roughly stitched waist band was a deal-breaker for sure; so uncomfortable. The dress looks so nice in the photos and the print is lovely, but the overall quality and fit of the dress are just not up to LLBean standards which previously have focused on details like these.

Rated 2 out of 5 by CatWiskas Plunging Neckline and Fading Color
I love the dress style, it's cute, I like the empire waist. I bought the navy blue medallion print. The fabric is lightweight, has a very nice drape, and is not clingy. Even with all that going for it, I'm returning it. After wearing and washing only once, the color faded. When I wore it I was a bit uncomfortable with the low-cut neckline so I put a pin in it to keep it closed. That wasn't enough though, it was still too revealing: every time I leaned forward my bra showed. Also, the seams around the waistline (there are 2 of them) rubbed and irritated my skin. I found myself tugging and adjusting all day. Too bad, I really liked the style, sad to see it go.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Activescientist Dreaded high waist
From the photo, it appeared that this dress might escape the dreaded trend toward empire or almost-empire waists. However, even after ordering a regular for my 5 foot 3 inch frame, the waist is too high. Tugging the fabric helps a bit, but then the top plunges.
Too bad, because the fabric seems quite good.
