Put it on, fits like a comfortable glove. I love this. Makes me feel 26 again.
5'8", 170 lb - large fits well - I'm busty, so I think it helps fill out the dress top. May have to use a cute butterfly pin to secure between the girls, though. Could use just a but more coverage.
Got the blue floral - nice for hot Florida weather. Am now getting the coral floral.

I went up a size so I wouldn't have to safety pin by the chest. It worked well and it's not that much bigger. It's very comfortable.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Love2travelToo great summer dress
Just received this dress, slipped it on, and it feels like a second skin. It is so comfortable and flattering that I am looking forward to wearing it. The fabric is thin but hangs nicely, and hopefully will wash and dry well. I am 5'3" and wear size 6/8. The small/petite fits perfectly.

This is just lovely. The fabric has beautiful drape and flow and is just ridiculously comfortable to wear. My only concern is that the rope print design is painted on the fabric, and I'm not sure how well that application will hold up over multiple washings -- I'm used to L.L. Bean designs being yarn-dyed and woven, so that's a minor disappointment here.
Some reviews mention that the V-neckline seemed a bit plunging, but I thought the neckline was perfectly fine. The surplus cut did gape open a bit in certain body positions, such as if I slouched while sitting in a couch, but not in a totally immodest fashion. If that cut is likely to bother you, fix the gape with a stitch or hide it behind a scarf.
(I'm a 5'4'', 115 lb, B-cup; purchased size Misses Petite XS -- the hemline rested a couple inches below my knee.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by KateG Disappointing Fabric, Skimpy Construction
I bought this dress last year in the Blue Pine color and I like it a lot, but in the Day Lily fabric it looks like a cheap nightgown. The fabric is thin and the pattern is washed out. It really does look like it's been laundered numerous times and would only be suitable for wearing to bed! This is one of my few negative reviews of LLBean garments--but this dress is overpriced and so chintzy looking, it's going right back.

I love this dress. So much in fact that I bought a second for myself and one for my daughter. Fabric drapes beautifully and washes like a dream. It can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
I typically wear a size 4, occasionally a 6. The extra-small fits perfectly.
It's nice to see LL Bean offer a fitted dress. I am a fit athletic person and this dress is perfect.

Rated 4 out of 5 by WaltzingMatilda425 Cute Dress But Bodice Needs To Be Redesigned
A cute, stylish dress that's perfect for summer. Armholes are cut deep enough to cover lingerie staps & the drape of the lightweight fabric creates a very flattering & slimming silhouette. However, the bodice needs to be redesigned. The plunging V-neckline may be fine for a cocktail party or for a date night out on the town, but it's way too revealing & not appropriate for daytime wear, especially at the office or at church.. What the dress needs is a pleated bodice that's cut with a little more fabric, that can then be adjusted to provide more or less coverage, depending on one's needs & personal preferences.
Pinning the front of the dress together doesn't work for me as it causes the bodice to pucker & ruins the look of the dress. It also draws even more attention to the plunging neckline. So to cover up any potential "wardrobe malfunction", I wear the dress with a stategically placed scarf.

Rated 4 out of 5 by June234 Great dress but couple key tips ...
Yep, the fabric is on the thin side and yep, it is low cut but I bought a size larger to give myself a little more fabric and also bought black and I pin the neckline. It is very comfortable especially for hot climates. Next time LL Bean should make it with a little more substantial fabric but the basic design is classic and flattering for a lot of figures. The empire waist part of the dress/cut of the dress does amplify any extra weight around the middle as i have read others comment but again order up a size if you are concerned. And if you are on the chesty side, definitely order up one size! Nice little dress for the sale price.

Rated 3 out of 5 by lin619 Wanted to love this dress
The thinness of the fabric that I kept reading about in the reviews didn't worry me-- I just thought it would be lightweight and ideal for summer. I didn't feel like I had a nightgown on, as some reviewers commented. However, the strip of fabric at the beltline was so stretchy that even though I am 112 pounds and bought a size Small (which fit fine overall), it just clung to and accentuated my little bit of muffin top. And in the summer, I don't want to be wearing shapewear! So unfortunately, it's going back. But for someone with a trim midsection, this would be a wonderful dress, especially in black.

Rated 3 out of 5 by HappyTraveler2 Too low cut.
Pros: lovely color, light material for summer, stretchy and comfy.
Cons: way too low cut for me and gappy around the arms. I am 5'5 and 135 lbs and purchased a medium.
I am used to LL Bean as a classic and modest fit. This disappoints and I returned it.
