Rated 5 out of 5 by Yardbird Great for summer hiking
The long-sleeves are great for sun-protection. The fabric is lightweight and comfortable. 40% cotton makes it comfortable, and 60% polyester keeps it light. The colors grey, green, and red are great. I have several of these now for my hot summer hikes. The sizes run true and the shirts don't seem to shrink too much, so you can buy your true size.

Purchased this t-shirt as a birthday gift for a friend. He had requested a light weight T that could be layered and it needed to wisk away any moisture. After getting online I could not figure out which shirt would work, so I made a call to LL Bean. The woman I spoke to was FABULOUS. She took the time to tell me about the different shirts and which one would work for me. I purchased (3) of the Pathfinders and it was huge hit. I would higly recommend this to anyone looking for a light weight t-shirt.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mockswede Fit characteristics - too short
I've now bought all four colors, except white, over this last 6 weeks. I was looking for more of the OHAF5 that I've had for over a year and really enjoy the fit and feel of it. This was light weight and draped well and had no-cuff sleeves and open neckline. No ribbing on neck or cuff. A nice LLBean customer representative recommended these as the newer iteration of this. So, I bought two Pathfinder shirts. Out of the bag, the material was the same or close enough to the OHAF5; the gray fit well and I wore it until I got the green out after the laundry cycle some days later. Tried that one and found it was shorter in the arm and in the tail. But, I wore it. Then I got the gray out again, after the laundry cycle - not quite as short in the arm or in the tail as the green, but still not 'comfortable' for me. This means that it's always tucked into a pair of denims. I'd already ordered two more colors and found the same comparison with same treatment - the red being slightly smaller. So, even though my build hasn't changed (5-10, 183 medium tapered, a bit long in arm and torso) over the last year and a half - these are not equivalent products to the OHAF5. I think the circumference of this Pathfinder design shrinks from an already too short cut. Only about 2-3 inches of tail to tuck. In the arm - I have to pull down the sleeve toward the wrist after I reach for something, even if with only one hand, because it's pulled back too far and fetched-up tight over my lower forearm. I'm sending them back because they don't have the tall fit option which I'd try otherwise. In their stead, I'm now trying TK224603. Blue. Been through the wash first (I'm learning) and they are 'tighter' at the neck because of the neck ribbing but they have 5-plus inches of tail tucked into my denims and the arm length, even without the 1.5 inch ribbed cuff, is long enough for me. It is a 't-shirt' weight, so it's heavier than I wanted, but will probably be more acceptable for the folks who don't like the sheer drape of these. Fabric is t-shirt weave but comfortable. Folks also have the Tall option with the TK224603. I did get one with short sleeve and Tall to try, worried about tail length (a non-issue), and it's tail runs to bottom of my butt - that should be enough for you tall folks or folks particularly concerned about avoiding 'plumbers butt'. More color choices, too. I wish LLBean made this Pathfinder with the TK224603 sizing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chivo Pathfinder long sleeve T-Shirt
Well, read all the reviews before buying this item. Reviews not so good. So I reasoned on their content. To thin, hairy chest, etc.
This is a PERFECT T-Shirt!! It is lightweight. Great for layering in winter.. Cool for hot humid Iowa summers. Great for travel. Dries quickly. Trim fit is excellent. I'm 6" tall and the sleeves fit my 34" dress sleeve length.
I admit that the high price makes me want to run away But it is a very nice T-shirt. I will buy more.

Rated 4 out of 5 by alltradeJack Bean's Pathfinder L/S Crewneck "T"
I'm a heavy guy, perspire easily (and heavily). I discovered poly-cotton "performance" "Ts" years ago and they have been keeping me comfortable ever since but became hard to find recently.. I have tried both Bean's L/S and S/S "Pathfinder" "Ts" and although made from a thinner fabric than others, they perform equally well. A "plus" for me is that Bean isn't bent on forcing pockets on the shirt (OR their customer!). "T"shirt pockets are touted as convenient but aren't deep or secure enough (can't count the pens, glasses and cell phones I've lost because of them....). All they are really good for is collecting debris and/or snagging on obstructions and causing the shirt to tear. GOOD PRODUCT, Tx!

Rated 5 out of 5 by stevej45123 Great shirt!
I have four of these shirts and they are great for bicycling, fishing, working out, and just hanging out. They have more of a cottony feel, less like a synthetic. Despite my five star rating and the statements I have made, they aren't perfect. If they were a bit longer in the body and the sleeves they would be better.

Rated 1 out of 5 by andrewva short sleeve length and thin fabric
The fabric is absurdly thin for the price and the sleeves are laughably short. I'm 6'2 and usually buy tall, but llbean's regular large usually fits me pretty well, on this the sleeves hit above way too high on my wrist. It's a soft shirt, and if it fit and cost less than $15, it might be worth it, but for the price, I expect better fabric.

Rated 1 out of 5 Disappointed.
WOW. WEAK. Very low thread count. Super-short torso length, and I'm a "Regular" - additionally, no Tall sizes are offered for this item apparently. AND, overpriced for this quality level. This is a $5 shirt, tops and I paid $35+(umm, really??)...buy & wear only if you want the bottom of your belly sticking out and your man-nipples showing.
Pro: no cuffs, which is what I liked about it.
Too bad I have to return it - what a pain. Disappointing, because I've been buying from L.L.Bean for over two decades and am always satisfied with their products. The poor quality of this item might be the 7th Sign of the Coming Apocalypse...well, maybe. I hope they paid the workers well for this one though, regardless.
