Comfortable and I think will be good for hiking. Have tried on but not used in great outdoors. I like them in part because I can't feel the leg zippers which I think would be annoying on strenuous hikes.

I wore these once. They were more comfortable than I expected. Unfortunately, the seams are pulling apart.

We're heading to St. John's VI for Christmas, and these pants are just what I needed. The bug repellant aspect is wonderful for a trip into the bugs. Beautifully made of course.
The only thing, the pants seem built for men with man-tailored aspects and menswear type belt. I would like something like this that looked like it was made for women--skip the belt, for instance.
Otherwise very happy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by DeeEmEn Not quite what I expected, but still good
Con: The fabric was heavier and less breathable than the other brand of bug repellent convertible pant that I had.
Pros: The zippered pockets fit a passport, money and credit card comfortably, The legs were easy to zip on and off (nice that they are labeled left and right, easier to zip on when wearing them).

Rated 4 out of 5 by MHannajo Color, not quality review
I'm only commenting on the color, not the quality of these pants as I didn't take them out of their packaging. I was exchanging another version in "Stone," realizing that the "Putty" color might not do it for me. The Putty is true to what I saw on-line (but hoped might vary just enough in-person and be more attractive to me), but I didn't care for it; much prefer stone/gray and what I think of as more neutral. Perhaps LL will consider offering them in Stone. :)
As always, the return/exchange process was a BREEZE and I so appreciate this when the catalog and on-line purchase experience is really my only option for shopping with LL. I remain as big and loyal a fan as ever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SailorMooner Love, love my new pants!
Updated narrower legs are flattering and overall fit is terrific! Love the belt, marked left/right zippers and handy pockets. I feel great in these and the repellant feature works like a charm. Bottom of legs fold and hold for a neat look.

Like that they come in bigger sizes. Nice material that dries fast.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SailorMooner Another Winner!!
Amazing quality and fit and bug protection. Love them. Still unnecessarily wide legs so not as attractive as they could be in the legs. Love the handy zip off feature. Excellent flattering fit in the seat and waist with a great easy clip belt

Rated 5 out of 5 by mrsentity Keeps the bugs away, cleans easily
These pants are lightweight zip-offs with very deep pockets. I wore them on a trip to Costa Rica, which wasn't very buggy in July. But they have these little black flies that are very persistent. They will find the one square millimeter of skin you missed when applying your bug repellent and bite you there. They swarm on you the way New England black flies do, though they don't get into your eyes and nose. You don't feel the bites, but oh man, do they itch afterward! I wore the pants without any other insect repellent, and never got a bite on my legs. (I got the bites on my arms and neck, where I'd applied 30% DEET bug repellent with wipes.) The down side is that when it's 85 degrees and humid, any long pants are going to make you feel hotter. For me, it was worth it.
They got dirty on one muddy hike, and I was able to wash them out in the hotel room sink. They dried in a few hours on a hanger. We had AC in the room.
I ordered my usual size, and it was a bit too big, but not enough that I wanted to return them.

Rated 1 out of 5 by FCRGR Horrible fit
Like the feel of the pant but the puffy legs are just horrible. I thought they were outdoor pants and not body builder pants.
