Rated 4 out of 5 by Bugless You must have these if you live in buggy areas.
Love these pants. We hike in the Rocky Mountains and there is mosquitos and ticks. The reason for the 4 star instead of 5 is the front pockets are not very deep. BUT I do love the zip pockets in the seam. Also, love the zip off legs, BUT need a zip at the hem to get them over my boots without taking the boots off. Color -- good, Fit -- good. This is my 3 pair of no bug pants.

Looking for zip-off hiking pants for heat/cool adjustments. Didn't realize these include all-over permethrin treatment to repel bugs. Covering up is enough in most western states to avoid bugs (unless you are fishing).
And what's the point of permethrin in shorts? You still need to apply bug repellent to exposed skin after you zip-off to shorts. Liked the fit on my pear shape, but returned due to permethrin. Prefer to apply my own permethrin treatments.

Rated 3 out of 5 by betsymig Pants are way too long
These pants look and feel good. They are true to size around the waist and hips, but they are about 8 inches too long for me at 5'5". As other reviewers have said, you can't hem these pants because of the zipper.
Only order if you are tall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by marymary454 great slacks
The zip off slacks fit and have real pockets, wash like a dream and do not require any ironing. I did order one size larger and according to the sizing chart and it worked .Looking forward to wearing them this week. The belt is great and an exact match for another pair of LL Bean slacks that I purchased recently.

Rated 3 out of 5 by meoakley Great except the rise is incredibly high
I loved everything about these pants, except the rise. It was insanely high. I'm not a short person & can wear just about any normal women's pant (that's not petite or tall), but these did not work. They came up 2.5-2.75" ABOVE my belly button. Other than that, I loved the fabric. I also loved that the pants are on the baggier side, & not the closer fitting stretchy type that seems to be "in" in hiking pants right now. So, sadly my Goldilocks quest for the perfect non-stretchy, not form-fitting hiking pants continues...

Rated 4 out of 5 by snshapir water bottle storage?
Very comfy fit including waistband
I wish these pants had a pocket or sleeve to carry a 16oz water bottle securely.

Comfortable and I think will be good for hiking. Have tried on but not used in great outdoors. I like them in part because I can't feel the leg zippers which I think would be annoying on strenuous hikes.

I wore these once. They were more comfortable than I expected. Unfortunately, the seams are pulling apart.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brooklynish Not feminine on me, but super practical
We're heading to St. John's VI for Christmas, and these pants are just what I needed. The bug repellant aspect is wonderful for a trip into the bugs. Beautifully made of course.
The only thing, the pants seem built for men with man-tailored aspects and menswear type belt. I would like something like this that looked like it was made for women--skip the belt, for instance.
Otherwise very happy.
