I got this for my dad and so far he loves it. I got the small at first but exchanged it for a medium. I thought he was a 34in waist but hes actually a 36 and the medium fits him great.

I purchased the belt because it came in xl-xxl. Now I am a 44 waist and the belt is at the next to last notch. I am not sure that it was made for my size or if it was mis-marked. The quality is great it just the sizing that is in question.

Rated 4 out of 5áby mrtallyman Gun Sling Belt - It's More Than That
I'm a gun enthusiast and a guitarist - although not usually at the same time. Just as this belt eliminates scratches on gunstocks it eliminates scratches on the backs of guitars. I'm all about multipurpose products. So I wear it when I hunt and when I play the guitar.
As noted in other reviews, the belt is inaccurately sized. Order a size larger than you admit to being and it will fit fine. I returned one and ordered up a size myself.
I have had no trouble with the hardware. Perhaps the inaccurate sizing issue may have something to do with the bent tabs others have experienced. Now that I am wearing the proper size, I do not expect the tabs to bend. They fit well in the holes and grip tightly. If they do bend or fail in some other way I will send it back. In my experience LLB stands behind their products.
The belt is comfortable. It is wide enough and substantial enough to look good with jeans, yet it also looks handsome with chinos. And, of course, it works well with field trousers. I Like it...a lot.

I had high hopes that I had finally found a replacement for my original LL Bean gun sling belt purchased back in the '70's. Wore that belt out, but not the catch. I tried two of these new models and both had poor quality brass catches. The metal was thin and easily bent. Sizing was OK and leather quality looked good, but they must do something about the catch.

Works and does everything that it should. I think it should have some improvements with this belt.

For me this is a great style of belt for casual as well as somewhat more dressed up wear. It looks great with jeans and yet has a clean no-buckle look so it can be worn with slacks or chinos and doesn't scream "look at me" the way a large metal jeans belt buckle can.

Bad sizing - size Extra Small/Small is, in actuality, a size 32" waist, while L.L. Bean says it will fit up to a size 36" waist. Bad fasteners - the two metal prongs used to fasten the belt are too small, so much so they barely even penetrate the two holes to fasten the belt. Even worse is that the brass plate that holds the prongs is poorly secured to the leather. I was not optimistic that the fastener would last very long, so I returned both belts. It's a shame, because the belt was made of good quality leather. The design was just very poorly thought out. L.L. Bean ought to tell that vendor "back to the drawing board" and not deal with them again until they come up with a suitable design. If you accept mediocrity, you will get it. We loyal L.L. Bean customers deserve better.

Although we used the included chart for size it was not accurate.
When it arrived we found it was about 2 inches too short.
Also it was not apparent that the belt did not allow changing buckles.
The quality as usual was great. Everything we buy from LLBean is high quality.

Rated 4 out of 5áby GrantM Nice belt, size may be a little off.
I like the belt, the size was a little shorter than expected (or per the sizing chart).
