Rated 5 out of 5 by catgirl So Soft and Elegant
I read reviews over and over debating about this shirt. I am so pleased I ordered it! The shirt is light as air and the fit is one of the best I have found. For reference, I am 5'4" with a 32B chest, broad shoulders and narrow waist. I was worried the 0 would pull across my shoulders but the fit is perfect for me. I hate real fitted clothing but this skims my body and has room to move. It is thin fabric but a nude bra works for me. And as one other reviewer mentioned, if the fit is correct, the sheerness should not be a problem. I love the all cotton and ironing is not an issue for me.

Rated 2 out of 5 by BShopper Cute shirt, but...
Cute shirt. I wanted to like it, but for the price and for LL Bean, I expect better quality. Shirt arrived with loose and pulled threads. I returned it. I was disappointed to see made in China on the label. I hope LL Bean will offer more items made in Maine and made in USA. I can purchase a white blouse made in China anywhere, for less.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Authentic I love the Signature lightweight poplin shirts
These shirts are light weight and cool and follow the line of your body without being constricting. They are like wearing nothing at all.. They are that comfortable. I enjoy them tucked in or worn out; either way they give you a polished look. The material is light weight . However, it is not sheer unless you get a size that is too tight, or you wear a coloured bra. I wear mine over a nude bra and there is no transparency. Semi sheer is just that. It is neither sheer nor opaque. When worn with the right under garments it looks modest yet attractive.
I have no reservations about this model shirt. I will continue to buy whatever prints, checks, stripe are offered assuming I like the pattern and the colour. The fit is perfection on me in size 0 For information purposes, I am 100 pounds and am 5'4" tall with square shoulders and a tapered lean torso. I take a 32 B and have a 24" waist.
Unfortunately I was too late to get the olive green with the acorn print;-( The print is so good looking and appealing, that it sold out immediately in my size. I already have the white with navy bird version, and a stripe in sunshine.
I usually wash them by hand and hang dry. I do not mind ironing. If I had a high tech front loader, I might try the machine on gentle cycle. But, I prefer hand washing. It preserves the shell buttons and the material.. I am fussy, what can I say . . .

Rated 2 out of 5 by quitecontrary Funny button placement
I had to return the 8, my usual size, because it was far too tight across the shoulders. 10 was out of stock so I tried the 12. I tried it on and it seemed a bit loose but that was okay. Until I wore it to work... When I tried it on, I didn't notice how the buttons gapped. Then at work I glanced in a mirror and saw that with the top button unbuttoned, the next 2 buttons gap and show my bra and chest. I tried tucking it in tighter, and finally unbuttoned the next button down, and that seemed to work (although that made it lower cut than I like). I don't know why some shirt manufacturers can't get button placement and overlap right. I'd return it, but I no longer have the return documents.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NorthernNewYork Excellent Petite Fit
I find this shirt to be a rare find for my petite frame. I am 5'2", 122lbs, 30DD bust, I bought a 6 Petite...usually shirts would be tight thru the bust but too large elsewhere. This one strikes the rare balance of fitted, but no too much so, and is very flattering. It kind of floats on my frame, but skims at the same time. The second button from the top is about 2 inches below the hollow of my throat--that is lovely placement, where just a bit of my collarbone is visible but it is still modest. The cons: it is very thin, although I can wear the striped print without a camisole. There is some gaping at the buttons also, but I have chosen to deal with that with double sided tape. To me, the fit and lovely tailoring is worth the cons. More of these in petite, please LLBean, I will buy them for years!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oppy beautiful soft cotton shirt, great fit
This shirt is a return to the cottons of yesteryear, like the British Liberty prints, cherished by so many. It is soft, drapes well, and is cut beautifully. I find many of your shirts a bit "matronly" in their fit and styling, but this shirt is different. The collar is more youthful and up to date, the print is very attractive and it drapes well. It is cut a bit on the longer side, in keeping with the current styles. I would love to see more of these small floral prints in other colors, with small collars and perhaps 3/4 sleeves for summer. Also, a collarless shirt, cut close to the neck, perhaps with some tucks along the front buttons would be terrific - but shaped, not too loose. I am a full size 14.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mmtw rice paper thin
I should have believed the other reviews that this would be transparent. Maybe a solid dark color would be OK, but the check seemed see through all over! Obviously returned as I had no use for it at all. Poor choice for a signature piece!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Sigourney Too sheer / weird darts
This shirt is too sheer to have the (ultimately three-layered) darts in the front. If there was some way to shape the shirt without these odd opaque stabbing shapes, that would be much better, and I may have been able to make the shirt work. As it is, wearing a nude camisole underneath you can clearly see the neckline, and the contrast is made far worse by the darts. Hmm. Mine is being returned.

This is a wrinkled mess. Impossible to iron and not worth the trouble.
