Rated 2 out of 5�by CaliforniaSwimMom These swim shorts are not lined! The swim shorts material is a nice weight and my daughter and I appreciate that, but we had two major problems with the design. The shape is not flattering on my slim 10 yr. old. We always wear swim skirts or swim shorts and rash guards - no tiny suits here - but we still want to look good and these shorts are baggy and droopy in the crotch. We ordered a size 10 because she has outgrown other LL Bean items size 8, so I blame the fit not the size. Also, the shorts are not lined so my daughter has to wear another suit underneath! She doesn't own any skimpy bottoms to wear underneath so these are not helpful. Sorry to be critical, hope this helps someone else. May 28, 2013

Rated 4 out of 5�by danley Looks great. I ordered my daughters the tank, rash guard and these shorts. I followed the sizing guidelines and they both fit beautifully. FYI the aqua colored shorts don't match the rash guard or the tank suit. The purple shorts match much better. The entire ensemble is cute. I usually buy their swimsuits at your competitor's site. Hopefully, these will last longer than theirs. February 20, 2013

These have an adjustable waist - a must for her - and also tie in the front. My only complaint - cannot get the matching rash guard and tankini! June 12, 2012

Rated 2 out of 5�by review007 Nicely made, but NOT for slim girls These shorts have cute, modest styling, and are well made, but they are much too wide for slim girls. While the matching 2-piece Hibiscus swim suit fits my daughter just fine, we have to cinch the shorts in so much that it looks like she's wearing a paper bag. I doubt they will stay up while surfing or playing in the waves. Sand will definitely get trapped in the large gaps. Unfortunately, back they go. LLBean, please make a slim size option for your girls clothing in general. Adjustable waists do not provide sufficient adaptability for tall, slim girls. March 9, 2012

We have not yet entered a pool this year (brrr--and raining her in CA), but these are very promising. The whole point of swim shorts, in my view, is coverage, and these are great! June 8, 2011

My daughter is tall and thin, so the adjustable waist is a big plus; she will be able to get the waist small enough without having to mess with a drawstring. I only wish they came with a liner panty, and were offered in a slim. Haven't tried them in the pool yet. May 3, 2011
