I love this quilt for its old fashioned, hand crafted look. Some reviewers were critical of the line dry requirement. I did wash the quilt as soon as I received it to give it a freshly laundered smell and feel. It was not inconvenient to hang it to dry. It laundered beautifully and looks great on my bed. The quilt is well made and the colors were just as pictured online. I'm very pleased with this purchase.

Purchased this Spring Harbor Postage Stamp Quilt recently & it is "beyond splendid" (strong praise indeed from an avid quilter). After painting the bedroom accent walls Cincinnatian Hotel Carl Tan (soft, warm & soothing from the National Trust for Historic Preservation) we found ourselves struggling to "pull it all together". Then voila, this quilt arrived & did just that. Like another reviewer said, with it's lovely blues, greens, browns against a "milk white" background, this quilt easily co-ordinates. Our "shabby chic" dressers are denim blue, we'll finalize the room with home-sewn bedskirt & valances out of denim blue ticking. Again, "how fun is that?"

The Shams are nice but the material is a little thin. The closure ties are a nice touch. The size is big for a standard pillow. A queen size pillow is a better fit for this pillow sham. Overall the quality is good and the Postage Stamp pattern is very nice.
Goes well with the Quilt.

This is the 3rd quilt that I have purchased from L.L. Bean in the past three years. I love all three of them! This Spring Harbor postage stamp quilt is the icing on the cake for me; with its small postage stamp pieced patterns, it offers up some creative new ideas in bed making for me. My intentions are to actually layer it on the bed, back to back with another L.L. Bean blue / green color quilt that I purchased several years ago (whose patches are in a larger scale than the postage stamp quilt). These two quilts back to back on the bed will provide the additional warmth needed in the cooler winter months of the year; and when I make the bed; and fold back the top third of the quilt, when making the bed -- it will reveal the other quilt design (that is a different scale & pattern) -- how cool is that?
The quality of their quilts is excellent. They use very beautiful pattern combinations. I can hardly wait to put my new idea in action and combine it with my new L. L. Bean Blue Floral Flannel sheets!

I am so happy with my Spring Harbor quilt (shams too). It looks like it could be a treasured quilt passed down through the family. There is a lovely mix of blues, greens and neutrals in a nice variety of fabric pieces that gives a restful calm feeling. The fine blue and white pinstripe back and piping also complement it well. I don't mind that it requires line dry since I do that with all my finer apparel and textiles anyway. The Postage Stamp pattern is a wonderful addition to your line of quilts.

This ensemble is beautifully made and looks stunning. I have purchased LLB bedding before and they have washed and worn well! I expect the same will be true for this too.

Did you know that this quilt is washable but must be line dried. Who has a clothes line ?. It is 2013 we all have clothes dryers. Disappointed. Returned for my money back..
