I wondered about the name Cresta? Seems it stands for "Catastrophe Risk Evaluation and Standardizing Target Accumulations"; Interesting. The shorts, like the longer Cresta trousers are very practical and utilitarian. Hard to find fault with them. Being picky as one can be, I'd say that the list price vis-a-vis the long pant leg version is rather close. I would have expected a slightly wider spread between long and shorts, but still good value. I'd suggest one more belt loop in the rear. having one in the dead center is not as practical as two 2-3 inches apart.Otherwise, excellent shorts.

These shorts are great for outdoor activities. They are very comfortable, roomy, have many zippered pockets, and dry very quickly.

I was very pleased with these shorts. They are very lightweight, resist wrinkles, and are incredibly comfortable. I'm a guy who appreciates utility and these shorts have it in abundance. They dry exceptionally fast and I have washed them in the sink, hung them to dry in the hotel bathroom, and wore them the next day. They are fantastic. These are my go to shorts; plenty of room for cellphone, wallet, keys, etc. I like them so much I bought 2 more in different colors. The size and color I ordered were spot on. I high recommend these shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EaglePeakDrummer Great shorts - shallow pockets
I am enjoying my Cresta Hiking shorts. Sizing seems to be right on, zippered pockets are great for securing things during active wear, light-weight fabric dries quickly. The only negative is that the primary pockets (where you would naturally stick your hands or your keys) are very shallow so I never leave anything there for fearing of losing them.

I debated spending this much on the shorts, but now believe they are worth every penny. You don't need to be a fly fisherman to appreciate these shorts. Great all around for hiking, canoeing, and just everyday casual wear. There are so many pockets, including several with zippers, that it's easy to forget which pocket you placed your keys in. On the downside, the Velcro tightening stretch-straps around the waist took a bit of a learning before I got the hang of it, but it seems to work OK now (I would have preferred a full belt strap). The grey shorts look great, as my wife and daughter both complimented me on how nice they appear. A different look from all of the cargo shorts out there, and they look great with hiking sandals or boots. Got for it.

This is the second pair of these shorts that I purchased this summer and they have become my new favorite shorts. They are very lightweight and look good out of the dryer. They are very well constructed with rubber coated zipper tabs on the front pockets and nylon cord pulls on the rear zippers. Sizing appears to be true. The snap front closure is sturdy. The most appealing feature of these shorts is the crotch construction which has extra material sewn in that prevents any bunching up when sitting, kneeling or bending over. This feature is even noticeable when walking. I will be buying more of these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RealSeattleNative Nice shorts
Bought these for my husband. He's 6' tall, 173lbs and very trim. The 32's fit perfectly. The shorts have stretch so there's no need for them to be baggy. All that said, if you like your shorts more roomy you might go with a different style.
They are a nice pair of shorts, nice enough to qualify as a more dressy short as opposed to a hiking short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Contrarywife Look fantastic, comfortable
Bought for hubby and they look fantastic on him. Fit perfectly, lightweight for warm weather, quick dry, comfortable. Zippered pockets are nice size, no Velcro to get snagged on other items in the laundry.
I wish I could get a pair for myself but no such item in the ladies department.

Rated 3 out of 5 by thehuffster Cut too large in legs
Shorts were baggy in the back and legs. Sizes run big, so ordering size smaller might be wise. I ordered two sizes to be sure they'd fit. The smaller of the two fit in the waist, but I sent them back because of the bagginess. I have a smaller frame which might account for the loose fit in legs. Material is of good quality and should wear well if you can find the right fit.
