Rated 5 out of 5 The rain jacket of all rain jackets
I bought this rain jacket for my upcoming trip to Ireland and I am very happy with it. It is a nice length and not too short. The sleeves have a kind of taper to them so they cover your wrist too. The material is very water proof and it comes with the vents under your arms so its not stifling hot. It is a bit stiff but that is what I was looking for. I didn't want water resistant I wanted water proof and it is

Great quality, nice looking, fits well, functional. I almost passed this by because I don't care for the newer fabrics and in particular don't care for rip stop nylon but this is quite nice looking and sturdy. Very happy with my purchase and hope it will wash and wear well.

I bought this to replace a 40 year old wind jacket. I mainly wear it snow shoveling with a base layer and heavy fleece jacket underneath. I wore it to shovel snow in a drizzle and the water beaded up. So far I haven't felt the pit zips through the underneath layers while shoveling snow.

Rated 2 out of 5 by MiaJ A very loud jacket
I bought this jacket but returned it right away because the material was stiff and loud. My daughter could hear me trying it on from another room in the house. It was also very short. I felt like it looked like a "little girl" jacket. I felt a bit silly with the short length.

Miss Small fits well on my 5'1.5" (1.57cm) frame. I first ordered the Petite S, but torso was too short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by B Excellent, waterproof jacket
The fit is true. It is waterproof. I have worn this jacket hiking, biking and kayaking from Bhutan to the Andes...it is outstanding. Many people along the way have complimented the look and fit. Love the underarm zips for those hot, wet hikes! I take it everywhere just in case and I am never disappointed.

I just love everything about this jacket, color(foggy grey), fit, features, price, the whole package. I can fit a fleece under this jacket and even without the fleece the fit is just great. The pockets are roomy and the hood has great adjustment features.

I have had a rain jacket from another manufacturer made of the same fabric for over 8 years. This jacket traveled with me everywhere, from bicycle trips, backpacking and skiing. Alas it was finally starting to wear out. I was excited to find the Pathfinder shell was made of the same fabric that doesn't delaminate over the years as many others do and has kept me dry through many downpours. I tried the shell on in the store and thought it was perfect. I was wearing a thin fleece at that time. When I got home, I tried the jacket on again while wearing a light t-shirt and found that the pit zips rubbed under my arms. I may be more sensitive in that area than others, but was afraid that would be a problem for me and returned the shell. I loved it otherwise. Give it a try. If that feature doesn't bother you, I think you will love this jacket!

This shell keeps you dry from weather and from perspiration, which keeps you at just the right temperature. Easy to fold and store when not in use. Hood is comfortable with or without a hat. Pockets are great, especially the chest pocket. Well made and comfortable.

by ErinRose AMAZING!!!
I just got of a 6 day river trip with 18 of my students. It rained for over 20 hours. Thank goodness I recently purchased the Pathfinder jacket and pants, because I stayed bone dry. The large is big enough to wear a PrimaLoft layer underneath and the large pants were big enough to wear fleece pants underneath; while being just about perfect with light layers under too.
I would recommend this jacket/pants to anyone. I am so happy I finally bit the bullet and spent the $$ on good rain gear without breaking the bank.
I am looking forward to next ski season when I will wear this jacket on wet powder days with the PrimaLoft layer underneath, and for spring days when a only a light breathable layer is needed.
L.L. Bean you never cease to amaze me.
And yes those are Bean mocs on my feet...they also stayed cozy, warm and dry!
