My need for a well fitted, supportive, and comfortable sandal was dictated by my feet and knees. A bunion on the right foot and arthritis in both knees are quick to complain if footwear does not give adequate support. I started wearing my new sandals right away, and my feet and knees are both comfortable with them. I am very happy with this purchase.

Very disappointed in the new explorer sandal and the changes made to the back strap on this shoe. I have three pair of the original sandal and could not be happier but on this years shoe they put a velcro back strap instead on one continous strap and it is simply awful, uncomfortable and ugly. The strap is big and bulky plus it now bites into the side of your foot because it is not one continous strap. Bring back the original!!

I had ordered this same style sandal last year and liked it very much. This was similar in appearance but not quite the same styling--too "clunky" looking. I also didn't like the Velcro closing at the heel--too thick.

Very nice for hiking, comfortable but too clunky for what I wanted. Wanted a pair for walking in the neighborhood or to a ballpark. I returned them and bought Boothbay Sandals on sale!

I read other reviews that said these run large so I ordered a ½ size down. I have wide feet although not wide enough to order "wide" shoes. These shoes fit me great, are comfortable and attractive.

These sandals were comfortable right out of the box. The adjustable velcro back strap helps make the fit exact for each foot. It offers good support for walking anywhere you might be going, is a good looking sandal, and the covered toe protects your feet.

purchased these to wear in new kayak--can't wait to try them there! They are very comfortable and something I can wear to work sometimes (work in school with autistic children & need to wear closed toe shoes!)

I usually wear a good walking shoe all summer and they are so hot and heavy so I decided to try the Bean Explorer Sandal. I have big feet and didn't know if the size I ordered would fit or not. When they arrived, I thought the green was such a beautiful color. I tried them on and they felt like a sneaker and they fit! I had to get used to the instep,but now I like them very much. I am considering buying another pair in a different color. If you are looking for a shoe with support in the instep, but want something that will be cool, then try a pair of these.

I've worn the khaki explorer sandals a few times and absolutely love them. The best part of these sandals was there was no "break-in" wear time needed - they were comfortable from the minute I put them on. Also, the velcro straps at the back area are helpful with putting on the shoes! The khaki color blends well with any color of pants, jeans, capris or shorts I choose to wear for the day and it makes my feet seem feminine and not so large or wide. As far as size goes, I rated the length of the shoe as true to size, and the fit as somewhat wide, which for me is a plus as I typically order wide width shoes. Great sandals!

What more can you ask for, comfort and waterproof!! A little wider than I expected, but not enough to make a difference.
