Rated 5 out of 5 by catboatowner great boat shoe
I've had my llbean boat shoes for about 5 years. They have seen lots of sailing, salt water, kicking around town, and wearing to work. They have been comfortable and a shoe I can wear every where. It's time to replace them and I'm disappointed to see that the lighter colors are not available.

I purchased these shoes over 1.5 years ago. I use them all the time and take them all over the world - easy to slip-off when going thru airport security. They are fantastic!
I would strongly suggest trying them on in a store without socks (and with socks to get an idea for the fit). I wear size 14/15 but after trying the shoes on, I purchased a size 13! I wear these without socks and they fit perfectly (but does not fit well with socks).

these shoes run a minimum of two sizes big. son and husband wear 15's and ordered 14's due to reviews. Should have ordered 12's. May need to remeasure these.

Received and have been wearing a pair of Casco Bay Boat Mocs for about 3 days. Was a little hesitant to buy them. Had purchased Blutcher Mocs a couple of years ago and soles wore out quite quickly and leather never broke in. I have a pair of the Camp Moccasins that I received in 1987. I still wear them though many of you would have tossed them years ago. Still, the leather and soles were that durable. On appearance, my new boat mocs look good, leather and stitching appear durable. The same goes for the soles. I'm giving 4 stars on appearance and 3 day of wearing. I am recommending at this point because it is a required field. I will review again at summer's end. This is to be continued . . .

Rated 5 out of 5 by Max77 Great shoe, runs narrow
I ordered a 9 1/2 as that is the size I use for all my shoes. As for the width I ordered the standard medium size since I've never had to consider the width of any shoe I have purchased before. When I got the shoes they were very tight but they also arrived with a note saying to give them a couple of weeks to conform to my foot--they did not. So I returned them and got the wider EE and they fit fine and were very comfortable.
I think LLBean should include width specifications--inches and centimeters--just as they do for length on these shoes so it is easier to know before ordering.

Boat shoes are a great shoe to wear just about anywhere, and these fulfill this requirement rather easily. The leather has a great look and feel, but not too thick or annoying. The laces are made out of a material a little harder than I expected, but looks really nice going around the heel. I recommend the lighter brown variety with the white bottom; it looks really good with khakis and probably anything else you would want to wear. Great shoe for just about anything.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BAWLLBeanShopper Just What I Was Looking For!
I ordered this model to replace a pair of LL Bean Camp Moccasins I've had for over 20 years and are now getting a bit long in the tooth. I went to this model because I wanted to be able to tie them more securely on my feet while not losing the moccasin look and feel. (I may order another pair of the Camp Moccasins, too. I've really enjoyed them.)
They are just what I thought I was ordering--another LL Bean Most-Bang-For-My-Buck product. The fit's good, and being able to pull the laces tight on the sides as well as over the instep really gives me a custom fit. The quality of the materials and workmanship are as good as ever.
I bought the model with the dark-colored sole, and that is working well for me--a bit dressier look. Although I don't plan on using them for boating, the soles grip very nicely on water-slickened concrete and terrazzo floors, which is becoming a consideration as I advance in age.

I saw these in the LL Bean store when I was buying my penny loafers (another great product), and I tried them on; they reminded me of the Docksiders I used to wear in high school, but I bought them in a different color than the traditional dark leather/white sole). I went a half-size larger than I typically wear and they are comfortable. They did not take long at all to break in, are holding up well and can be worn easily with or without socks. When it is time to replace them, I will be buying another pair of these.

I wore Bass boat shoes for about a year before the soles fell off and the insoles disintegrated. These are my daily shoes, and have performed well. Be wary of buying these online as when I tried them in the store I tried 4 different pairs and all 4 fit differently. These are hand stitched and is to be expected, but make sure you get a good pair. Sizing differs from shoe to shoe, as my left shoe seems a small bit wider than my right foot. Exceptional shoe overall.
