I have put these pants in my daypack while trekking to keep me dry in case of sudden showers and they have done their job. They slip on easily thanks to side zippers and are comfortable around the waste and legs. I have however added a nylon belt through their velcro closures to keep them from slipping down around ankles and around my waist in case of eventual elastic failure.I am a man measuring 6' , weighing 210 lbs.I bought mens regular XL and I am happy with my choice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by CADJR Poor sizing and features!
First of all, I would like to say that I have been shopping at LL Bean stores since 1973. So, I think I know how the sizing chart is supposed to work. I bought these pants in my usual size, XXL-Regular, assuming these pants would fit like my LL Bean Hunting Pants, Trail Model Rain Pants, Goretex Stowaway Rain Pants,Timberledge Pants, Timberledge Softshell Pants, Knife Edge Pants, etc. WRONG! These pants are a good 2 inches too small in the waist.
How can you put these in the same size (XXL) as the other model pants when these Pathfinder Pants are 2 inches smaller? The waist band is non-elastic, so there is no room to adjust for different layers of insulating clothes underneath. I couldn't get the pants on with just regular underwear! There were no belt loops and too few pockets. If you could pull these on over other pants when it starts to rain ( like if you ordered one whole size up from your normal size pants ) you would have to put your wallet and pocket knife and cell phone into your jacket pockets, otherwise these pants would be too heavy and fall down because there is no belt to support the weight. Save your money-these pants aren't worth it!

I bought these for my bike commute. The pros: waterproof, enough stretch to pull on over pants, substantial enough to wear fall and spring with leggings underneath. The con: the side zippers are a bit bulky, so they occasionally dig into my hips while pedaling. A minor adjustment solves this.
Overall, I wear clothes pretty hard, and these are holding up well. Recommended.

Purchased these waterproof pants for husband, but they did not turn out to be waterproof, therefore we returned them.

Rated 4 out of 5 by VerneS good materials, good design
Seems to be a nicely thought through design, with a waist band that is comfortable, holds, yet is not cutting like so many elastic waist bands. Perhaps a little on the heavy side, but that comes with a more snag resistant material. Good product overall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Outdoorsalot2 You made the pants too long!
Wanted an inexpensive, weatherproof shell for spring, summer and fall. That is what I got. Purchased jacket and pants. Comfortable and kept me dry during two weeks of hiking out west with more rain and snow at 14000' than is reasonable. Light weight. packed well. That is the upside. Downside, the pants are cut too slender and too long. I did get a medium for the waist and ended up walking on the cuffs. Had to fold up the legs to stop that. I do not like paying for something like this and having to settle for poor sizing. At 5'8" and 160 I am not a large. I did not want a baggy fit and that is what I got. There is very little room for any type of layering so it will not get used in the winter here in New England. Seems to be well made but time will tell on that. I do like the wider cut at the ankles. It fit well over my hiking boots but some type of gather would stop the cuffs from dragging on the ground. I will figure that one out.
