This is the second pair of these sandals I've owned. The first lasted two summers of constant wear. Only replaced this year because tread had worn down and need traction to walk in the river. Tops still look new!

I often have trouble with sandals because I have to use an insert. This sandal holds my insert in just the right position. I have walked on the beach and through the water and the sandal seems to shed the sand and dry quickly from the water. I do not think I will need to look beyond L.L. Bean from now on for the sandals I want.

I've owned several pair of these sandals and have loved them.
However when ordering my latest pair I find that the new adjustable strap in the back no longer does the trick for me. Before I just used to be able to pull them on with a quick tug on the back strap. That no longer works. Now each time I need to secure the strap before wearing. While it only takes a second, its just not as convenient. I've returned them and will look for another brand.

Bought these for my guy, since I have the woman's version which I love. He has a wide foot, so I took a chance and they are fine.

I needed these sandals shipped to me in two days for we were going on a trip to the Amalfi coast in Italy, for our 25th wedding anniversary.
The reason why I waited so long to order, is that I tried other sandals from other companies & could not get them to break in to feel right. So I took a chance on the LL Bean name for quality & tried these sandals without break in before trip. We hiked the Pathways to the Gods on the Amalfi Coast & the sandals worked great. They were so comfortable they did not need a brake in period. They were also very tough, had good traction & water proof .

I am a Type II diabetic. I was looking for a sandal with a closed back heel to protect my foot from cuts, etc. The shoe appeared to be well constructed and was very attractive. However, it did have an open heel and that is the reason I returned it.

I am on my feet for most of the workday and these are great sandals.
I have worn them 5days/week since last Sept. They are holding up fine. I will now wear these outdoors all summer and get a new pair for the fall.

I bought these sandals to wear while on my boat in Mexico. I have worn them in and out of the water, on rocky beaches and around town and after six months of abuse they still look as good as new. Other brands of sandals of this type have failed after just a few months of wear. My only criticism is that they rub a sore spot on the inside of my heel, due to the Velcro adjustment, and no matter how much I wear them they are never truly comfortable. (My wife, who bought the ladies' version of this sandal, has the same problem with her own sandals). Overall, though, an exceptionally rugged, high quality sandal.

I loved these sandals when they had a one piece heel strap like keens do. When LLBean "improved" the heel strap by making it two pieces, they ruined a great sandal. The two piece heel strap curves in and rub my ankles raw. I am now looking for a good sandal.
