Rated 5 out of 5�by RickHikes Casual shoe alternative Bean's "Men's Mountain Town Shoes" are a good alternative to sneakers (comfortable but not very attractive) and boat shoes (fairly attractive but not good for much walking). The Town Shoes are still feeling good after several 10+ mile days of New England urban adventuring and will soon be going to Europe for each of these same reasons. May 22, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5�by GTinVA Very nice casual shoes I like these shoes. A lot. They are very nice lightweight casual sporty shoes. They are very comfortable?the size is spot-on, probably intended for no socks. I wouldn't take them hiking (not designed for support) and I wouldn't take them running (the sole seems like it would wear quickly). But I would take them anywhere else I want shoes that aren't dressy and also aren't sneakers. I don't like the way modern running/hiking shoes look, and these don't. Very sharp and distinctive. Top-notch LLBean quality. I hope they'll produce more shoes like these. May 10, 2013

The boot is great and comfortable from day one. The boot looks good. I really like the fact that the boot comes with two pairs of laces. This was a good idea LL Bean May 7, 2013

Rated 5 out of 5�by darrellvmc Superb comfort and fit! These are undoubtedly some of the finest shoes I've ever owned. I bought them after searching in vain for a pair to replace my previous favorites. It turns out that previous model was discontinued. Now I'm thinking of buying a second pair of these just in case these are discontinued as well for some unfathomable reason! One thing that has surprised me about these is how much easier walking is when I have these on. My feet roll perfectly with much less bounce. I find that this saves energy. I've worn them several days now and there is still scarcely any trace of creasing across the toe box. My feet simply don't have to bend as much. And they're quite light in weight. April 17, 2013

Rated 3 out of 5�by Coldblooded2 Not what I expected This shoe is more like an athletic shoe that it is a hiking shoe. The sole is definitely athletic shoe oriented. The top of the shoe looks and feels like a hiking shoe. It is very stiff around the toe and takes a little getting used to. Not sure if I like the fact that it has LL Bean across the back of the shoe. Just not where you typically see a brand name. March 14, 2013
