I just received this in the mail and absolutely love it. I had ordered the West End Soft Shell jacket in XL but it wasn't wide enough across the back. Ordered this one instead in 1X and it's perfect! Nice color, room for layering but not too much, lovely cozy lining, nylon lining in the sleeves (so it's easy to get any kind of sleeve in and out). I also love that it's nice and light. I live in N. CA so I don't need a super heavy jacket, and I'm going to Alaska in May so I wanted something layer-able. Perfect! I'm in jacket heaven!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by KayJVee Nice Jacket, but not great
I like this jacket for a lot of reasons, the warm fleece lining, the design of the hood, the adjustable drawstring waist, and the 2-way zipper.
However, here are my issues with it. I'm 5'9", 198 & a pear shape. The 2X was huge. The XL was too small in the hips, but fit better in the chest. I eventually settled for a 1X, but that was not the best fit either.
The fleece is warm & cozy and not having the fleece inside the armholes is a plus because long sleeve tops don't get hung up when you pull your arm in and out. I also like the fleece lining in the hood & the design of the hood.
I have a 12 yr old similar style LL Bean jacket with a flimsy zip-off hood and it has a snap storm flap over the zipper. I like the storm flap feature a lot because sometimes, I want the flexibility of using a couple snaps to secure it when I run out to the mailbox, etc.
I love the two-way zipper. And yes, it can be a bit tricky to get it zipped, but it's a quality zipper.
The other issue I have with this new style jacket is the fleece doesn't slide easily on the back of your clothing--specifically your bottom. It tends to stick to your backside, even though the jacket is big enough. Maybe, below the waist, the fleece fabric could be a little smoother so it glides across your clothing, rather than grabbing at your butt.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BirdLodges Sleek and warm
I ordered this a year ago and due to the California drought have not been able to wear it until now.
I almost returned it last year because of the extra-roomy fit through the hips (I'm quite slim in that area) but decided to keep it as that just seems to be how LLBean sizes the extra-large products. And who looks at me from an exact straight-on view anyway?
The zipper is a little bit tricky but I believe I'm getting the hang of it. Otherwise I really like this jacket. It's lightweight, slippery and easy to carry while keeping me warm with a fleece lining, even in the pockets! The hood is sized just right for popping on and off with no adjustment needed.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Southerngal123 Nice Lite Parka
Bought the Spring Point for both my daughter and myself. I ordered my normal size for both of us..she is 5'2 curved and busty so I got her the Petite large in deep teal. It fit her well. Long enough to cover her tush and plenty of room for layering. Sleeves are a bit long for a petite. I wish it had a Velcro stripe to make it more fitted. I ordered mine in a misses medium but it was too tight across the back and the arm holes hit weird on my arm. I am 5'71/2 145 lbs and a 36A. So I sent it back. I received the large in Alpine blue today. It is quite large but the shoulders and arm holes fit me much better. It is very long in the shelves, almost too long which is surprising since most of my Bean shirts and Barn Yard coat sleeves are almost too short on me. The length of parka is very long as well, but it covers my tush quite well, and covers my multiple Comfy Big shirts. The waist adjuster helps to add a little bit of shape. The main reason I bought this coat was to keep me warm at my daughters softball games. The bleachers can be quite chilly in March/May. It is not the most flattering jacket but there are a few things that make this one a keeper: it's light weight yet warm, I love the lining in the pockets, and the hood is fitted. The Alpine blue is a bright greenish blue, very Spring-like. The dark teal is very dark but my daughter liked it just fine. Thanks Bean!

Rated 5 out of 5 by iowaliving Just What I Wanted for Spring Walking
Very comfortable and functional light coat I plan to use for walking. It's not tight nor constricting. Wearing a sweater underneath works. I like the length for coverage and the sleeves are just the right length too, unlike what a few other reviewers are saying. It could be a little less A-line but I don't mind. Sure is soft inside with fleece in the main part, but not in the sleeves. This way the coat is easy to get on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MarketingGuru Great Spring jacket
This is the best L.L Bean item I have purchased yet. The color is unique and gorgeous. I receive compliments all day from people on the color. It is lightweight but is a little bit heavier than expected. The soft but warm lining inside the jacket is perfect for 30-70 degree weather (I love the cold weather). It also has a string on the waistline if you would like to accent your waistline.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thehappybooker Perfect for Southern Winters
I've been looking for a lightweight coat for winters here in Charleston. We stay pretty mild, but have some cold spurts. This Parka is going to be pefect. I wore it last night on a 90 minute walk paired with a long sleeved tshirt, jeans and gloves and was perfectly warm with the 50 degree temp. I actually got quite warm by the end of the walk.
The double zipper is great. My only suggestion would be to add a velcro strip to be able to adjust the sleeves. If I hold my arms straight down to the side, the sleeves fall below my fingertips. Not a huge deal, but a bit of a hinderance when carrying things. But otherwise the fit is good and accurate and it really is very lightweight.
I am very happy with the Parka.

Received my jacket yesterday and love it. The petite medium fit great on my 5 foot medium sized frame. Really like the soft lining. Bought the jacket specifically for an upcoming cruise vacation. I didn't want to pack a heavy coat and needed something warm, but not too warm, and water proof. I really like the green color, too.
Thanks LLBean for the great jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by USAgirl My go to coat
I just received this coat today, and wore it walking the dog. It was 35* out, and a little breezy. I had on a turtle neck shirt, and a Bean Chamois shirt on under, and I was nice and warm! When it started sprinkling, I put the hood up. So glad I bought this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Growlegs Finally a rain coat made well!!
I've gone through so many rain coats only to have them tear and unable to fix or wear. This rain coat feels so nice and warm and the material will last. The size was perfect and love the hood on it. Great having a zipper on the bottom when driving so it won't feel tight. Looking forward to some warmer weather to wear it. Thanks for making my day!
