Rated 5 out of 5 by fyryred High Quality Purchase
I have a pet fountain in my kitchen for my 3 cats and large dog. I had been using a towel under it to protect the floor from water my large dog drips everywhere when he drinks. This mat helps to protect my floor. It was the same size as the towel I had been using. This was the second LL Bean waterhog mat purchase I have made. I am very happy with both purchases.

Works great but the fibers are not a solid color. I ordered the blue mat and it has a "heathered" effect. Makes the rug look constantly dirty.
Photo shows a solid color but not the case in reality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ShaKaRoo Such a nice mat for the front door
As you can tell I have dogs. This mat is not only cute but perfect for by the front door. It's everything advertised. I got the camel as my carpet is beige and it looks great. We actually had rain today and it wicked it right off my shoes when I came into the house. Thank you for not only a really cute but great product.

This is a great door mat. It is waterproof and the larger size looks great in front of the door. Don't waste your money on those cheap mats from the discount stores, they don't last. Spend the extra money for this one, you won't be disappointed.

I'm so happy with my second Waterhog mat. It cleans easily, and is heavy enough that it won't flop around or blow away in the wind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by michellec29 Looks nice until you start to use it
The mat is really pretty looking until you start to use it. I have a large dog and his hair and food gets stuck in the mat's divots. It doesn't sweep up easily and the hair and food starts to look really gross. I went back to using my old regular door mat that doesn't show the mess and you can easily sweep it.

This carpet is great for attracting dirt, but almost impossible to clean. We've tried everything, but the animal hair and dirt will not come out. This is the first LL Bean item I've been disappointed with.

I've had this mat for at least 2 years now. I purchased it to go under large dog bowls as the other pet mats weren't big enough but I needed it to fit in a certain spot so it couldn't be too large. I needed something to trap the water and save my laminate floors because my labs were messy. I already had a water hog for the back door in red in the leaf pattern (wish they still had it) and wanted another red mat. When we move I'll get a bigger one to attempt to catch the Great Dane slobber. I vacuum it regularly and hose it off outside when it needs it. Love love love these mats. I've never had a fading or shredding problem but I know how fantastic their guarantee is so I would not hesitate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mtnfever even better as motorhome stair runners
I liked this mat so well under our dog's dishes in our motorhome that I bought another for the motorhome steps. These steps are very different lengths and widths than normal home stairs so the Herring-Bone mat was the closest stock fit. And, of course, was still just too cute for words!
I cut it lengthwise to fit the bottom two steps and trimmed just a "little off the sides, please", which I had to (carefully!) use a box cutter as the fabrics are so tough. The two pieces have worked very well to capture the small gravel pieces and wet sand that we've been in so far. No fraying at all but the pieces are very contained in the steps' well.
The gravel shakes out easily outside the door and dog hair vacuums easily too.
I'm now contemplating whether to get a much larger size for our garage entrance at home especially since it's getting on mud season there...
