Rated 5 out of 5 by UpstateNYreviewer As advertised, a quality extra-large suitcase
Fits a huge amount and remains lightweight. Attractive. easy to handle, but perhaps future upgrades could include the now-popular four-wheel rolling ability. I did not compare prices but It's hard to imagine a lower price for such a quality piece, shipped free of charge (and delivered within two days, or in half the time originally promised for standard delivery!).

Rated 5 out of 5 by SEBV88 Sportsman Luggage is the best
My daughter and I fly a lot! These bags stand the rigors of flying!
We are on a first name basis with the gentleman who works the Southwest baggage check at our airport. He always comments on our LLBean luggage because he says "its the best" that he sees; and he should know! We agree! We only bought a new piece because of an up coming trip where we could have 70 pounds per bag, not just 50 pounds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by HikeaWay New zipper design - hopefully last longer
I have been very happy with my L.L. Bean luggage, but the airlines have not been kind to the zippers. The zipper on this piece is in the middle and not along the edge, so I am hoping this will give me more years of service with this model. I do like the handle on this one better than my previous version as this one goes up and down easier. The bag rolls very nice and even. I have not used the top pocket with the insulated pouch, but that is a new feature over the last one.
Even though the newly placed zipper should last longer I do see why some people are concerned with the placement. Adding anything to the bag is best done with lots of space in order to have it opened all the way up.
Still, I am happy with my new luggage and hope to use it for many years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Storytime Durable Suitcase
We have now owned 4 different pieces of this luggage set. It has weathered numerous air flights and my husband by accident even ran over it with the car. We had to pop one side back but it continued to perform at top quality. The only problem we had with it was about 12 years into the suitcase the zipper wouldn't open and we called customer service. After trying there fixes they said cut it open and sent us a new one. I would recommend this to anyone. The color stays true forever. This is a great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by SierraGuy Roomy and smooth rolling suitcase
I really like this pullman. It is roomy and includes the garment folding accessory (used it for organizing and keeping my suit from wrinkling in transit). One thing that struck me about this unit, when I was rolling it side-by-side with my wife's equally sized generic pullman, is the smoothness of the wheels. Her generic was bumping along with worn or flat spots on the wheel or wheel bearings; however, this Bean pullman was silent and smooth. I did have a problem with the zipper's pull tab, used to close the pullman around its perimeter. The pull tab was defective and broke on my first pull to zip it closed. I immediately called LL Bean and they told me to send it back, afterI returned from my trip. Meanwhile LL Bean sent me a new replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TCJCA A great litttle carry on bag
We're so pleased with this bag we bought a second one - in a different color - during our last trip to Freeport. The bag holds a great deal of stuff and still fits in the overhead bin of most every plane. The handle is sturdy enough to keep a briefcase/computer bag securely attached. It is highly maneuverable - even when walking down the aisle of a plane. Extra pockets adorn the outside of the bag and are a great place to stash all those things you almost forgot. These bags are great for a weekend trip or a cross country/transoceanic trip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BusinessTrav57 Typical Bean bag - high quality, a bit small
This is a well constructed, high quality bag. I think it represents a good value for the money. If you're looking for luggage that will last a long time, this is a great option.
This bag, however, is not huge. I think most people would consider it "large" rather than "extra large," so do pay attention to the dimensions before purchasing. I actually prefer this size versus the jumbo bags because you can pack it fully without having to worry about exceeding the airlines' 50 pound limit. Fully packed it's in the 42-45 pound range.
Originally, I was not excited about the clam shell design. But after using it on vacation, I actually prefer it because it's a handy way for two people to share the same bag.
The only thing I would change about this bag is that I would probably make it a tad larger and I would offer a non-clam shell option for peope who don't care for that design. Overall, however, a great product worthy of the LL Bean name.

i own the smaller version of this pullman and needed something for a week long trip. this was perfect. well balanced and easy to lift and roll. straps and netting keep everything in place. only wish it were a few pounds lighter.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TS11967 Great piece of luggage
I bought this piece to replace a Sportsman large pullman purchased 15 years ago. Since LLBean changed the dimensions, this extra large was basically the same size as the large from years ago. This is a very good looking, sturdy, well made piece of luggage. My only complaint is the clamshell design. Because of the way it opens, the luggage does not fit on luggage racks provided in hotels. I ended up having to either leave it open on the floor or put it on an extra bed in the room (if there was one). I wish it opened like my old one did.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mickey7 Durable, attractive, and practical luggage
I just received this suitcase and can't wait to travel again. It replaces a suitcase I got from Bean several years ago that just wore out. All of LL Bean products are durable, and my last suitcase owed me nothing when it went to the curb. This one is sturdier, more spacious and really well designed. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
