Rated 5 out of 5 by a2cheryl Compact Luggage
We just returned from a 12-day trip to Nova Scotia where we were limited to one piece of luggage for each of us. My husband and I both have this bag in the large size and were able to put all of clothes and supplies inside them comfortably. We have other Sportsman pieces and find they stand up to the wear and tear of airline luggage handers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by atlcycle Liked it so much I bough another...
I had to replace an older bag an chose this one....it arrived just days before I was leaving town and REALLY liked the appearance.
I went on another trip but did not take this bag. The airline broke my other older bag. SOOOO I order another one of this bag in a different color!!! Just perfect.
As for delivery, arrived on the day promised..... love that!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by kealime The perfect suitcase!
I just used it for a flying trip cross country. Quality workmanship and materials. Wheels held up to banging up and down stairs, stepping off busses, being dragged across cobblestone walkways. Holds so much (it has the capacity to expand if necessary by unzipping top compartment). Plenty of zippered compartments. Easy to stay organized. Get it monogrammed - it makes things so much easier when picking out your luggage on a busy baggage carousel. Love it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Travels2much Will give a second chance
Dimensions, weight, design, ease of use are all very good. I actually prefer the split in the middle. Unfortunately, after only a single leg of its first trip, one of the zipper pulls was missing. I travel at least once a month and have used LL Bean's ballistic luggage for 6 years with no trouble. Decided to try this model when I needed a bit more space. Will give benefit of doubt that zipper was a fluke; hopefully the one I get in exchange will last longer. If the zippers can survive the next flight, I'll come back and give it more stars, because otherwise it seems like a solid bag.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MyricaP clam shell design has challenges
I did not see it in the description, but there is a key difference between the large model of this bag and the smaller carry-on version. This model opens in the middle, rather than having a lid on the body of the suitcase, Nice for separating the contents into 2 sections, but it means you need twice the horizontal space to open it, which is not practical wherever space is limited or on a standard luggage rack.

Bought this to replace much older luggage. Great upgrade. Not too huge, but packs a ton when you use the expandable zipper mode. Very sturdy, good wheels, surprisingly light. Has already made it to Ireland and across the US without any dings. or failures.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Pippin15 Zippers not easy to operate..
I would have returned this rolling pullman because of the difficult to operate zippers (on the rounded corners). But, we had it monogrammed, so I guess it's ours! Hope the zippers work easier as we use it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by lifeisamazing Great Suitcase, But Bad Design
This is a very nice suitcase, except for the design. As others have noted, the suitcase is a "clamshell," opening directly around the middle so you have two halves available for packing. The biggest drawback to this is that if your suitcase is on a luggage rack, with the back banked against a wall or other support, you can't access that half of the suitcase because everything would fall out. So the suitcase needs to be opened on a large flat surface, which isn't always possible. This was supposed to be a Christmas present for my 81 year old dad, but had to send it back because the design just isn't practical, unfortunately.
