As most of us born in the 50's, having children in the 80's, I wanted my grandchild to experience the same joy with sledding as we all had. After reading reviews on other sites about the runner sled that I and my children had and the poor quality it was now plus having to put it together, I came to LL Bean looking for quality. The LL Bean reviews gave me the insight I was looking for . I ordered the long sled end of October to make sure it came on time. It arrived before the two week predicted shipping time. The sled is high quality wood, no gouges, put together with strong hardware and it came fully
assembled. The runners feel very sturdy. I can't wait for the first snow!

We recently retired to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. We get at least one good snowstorm a year. Our front yard is a wonderful sliding hill. But if you're not careful, you can slide into the pond. We had an assortment of unsteerable devices. We originally looked at another brand. I did an online search for reviews for the other brand and found that many of them broke on the first use. That quickly sent me to LL Bean where I knew I could return it if there was a problem. I ordered the medium size for my husband for a Christmas present. We got our snow four days ago and have been out having a great time every day since. The medium is a perfect size for an adult and a small grandchild in front. My husband is now going to order the largest size also--I think he wants us to be able to race! The sled steers very well. I was surprised at how well it went through snow. We thought we'd have to wait until the snow was packed down and icy, but it goes fast enough for us. Thanks for a great, fun product!

We just received this sled for my 8-year old son as a Christmas present and couldn't be happier. We got snow the day after Christmas and hit the local sled hill with the Dash Sled in tow. At first, to be honest, I was concerned that it would be too hard for my son to use since the "new" sleds are all plastic, etc. I was wrong! He found this easy to use and probably went down the sled hill 40 times. He even let me use it and it was a smooth ride and the sled was easy to steer. This is a great sled and although seemingly "high" priced compared to plastic sleds, I'm certain this one will last us a lifetime.
