I love this lantern. At first I thought the blinking green light would be annoying but you don't really notice it and I realized what a help that would be when the lights go out, which they do very often here. Its a little smaller than I wish but I still love it & will be buying more.

We bought this lantern after we had two power failures over three days. We had some flashlights and candles when the blackouts first occurred, but we really missed having some sort of lantern light, so I purchased this one.
Amazingly, we had yet another power failure about a week after our purchase, and, boy, were we glad we had the lantern. It was so effective for us that we are thinking about buying another. We particularly like the remote feature (and the remote itself has a fairly strong flashlight).
If you ever find yourself thinking that you need a light for some reason, this lantern could be your solution.

I have a small cabin in the mountains of North Carolina and we are off the grid with no electricity, only all-propane gas appliances. When we are gone from the cabin at night, we leave no gas lights burning for safety reasons. When we return, the cabin is very dark and I have to walk around in the dark with a flashlight to light the gas lights. Now we plan to leave this lantern on while we are gone. It will make returning to the cabin at night much easier and will also provide a "night light" for us and our dog. We will buy another one in the near future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by teeee The little light that could
It is smaller then I thought . Especially for the cost. But I must say it does give off a lot of light. so I know it will come in handy...just in case we do lose power with this weather. Now I am hoping I don't have see if it works for 30 days. I have used it to look into my dark closet. I would recommend. tee

Rated 5 out of 5 by T1R9Steve Just what I wanted
I actually purchased this to hang in a windowless shed I'm getting this spring. I was intrigued by the remote feature. Got it, set it up as explained and it worked great. You need to make sure that you have cycled through the light settings so that the blue remote active button is lit, then all is well. I want to be able to have it hanging in the shed but activated by the remote and it will do just that.
Had it set up for a snow storm in case of power out and was nice to know that remote was beside me on night stand. Never lost power but was confident of the product. Just what I wanted and will do the job I expect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by studentnab Convenient, long-lasting, great light
I have a very dark hallway with only a ceiling light. I purchased the Lighthouse Lantern and keep it at the end of the hall and turn it on as I need it for use there. It is in a good spot just outside of my bedroom in case we lose power, which we may after the storm we had today with another one coming Monday into Tuesday - this one is said to be of blizzard proportion. At least I don't worry about being able to see if power goes out. I'm very happy with the light and plan to get back to LL Bean to order another one to keep in my cellar area if needed again, if we lose power and I happen to be downstairs at the time.

It is everything I was led to believe it would be. It is great as an emergency light in the home and a great light to take camping. It gives off a lot of light.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NWShopper321 Great lantern, bad remote
Haven't had to use the lantern much yet, but the light it puts out, and the basic design seem very good. Forget the remote control, however. Had it in a drawer by the bed for about six weeks without ever using it and the batteries were dead when I tried to use it. There's some very bad design in the electronics there. Made me nervous enough about the lantern draining when not in use that I removed the batteries from it. I hope I can put them back in and line up the base (it's tricky) in the dark someday.
