Rated 5 out of 5 by Grousem Great upland hunting pants
I hunt grouse a lot in nrthern Wis. THese pants are light, and repel wild rose thorns that shred clothes. THe poplin means ease of movement, and QUICK drying after trekking through wet brush. Bot 1st pair and loved them. Bought 5 more.

They are great for warmer days afield here in the deep south. They wear better than dress pants! I own at leats two pair of all the different upland pants Bean makes and would suggest that anyone that hunts upland game do the same.

These pants look like a good product when you first put them on, but they fail in the field. They don't breath well and my legs were quickly wet with sweat. Get the original brush pants - even though they are heavier, they breath well. I've had a pair for 10 years and will get them instead of these.

These pants replaced a worn out similar pair that were not so well made (another brand). I got them in time for use during the woodcock season here in NH. I really like the balance of light weight and briar turning.

I've used these pants almost daily since they arrived for hunting woodcock in thick brush. They are lightweight, comfortable but durable. They'll be excellent for Summer field trials as well.

I bought a pair of these pants seven years ago. They lasted six hard years of hunting all kinds of upland game. I ordered a new pair the same size, they didn't fit just right in the waist in my normal size. I called L.L.Bean and told them the problem I was having with the new pair. The lady told me the problem is on them and sent me another pair. They fit perfect. L.L. Bean is A+ in my mind. Thanks again. 21MAN

The weave is very tight and substantial. It looks lighter in the photo, but it's tough fabric. Well fitting. Just as the description says, use these unless you are wading through the most evil of briars all day. If I knew I'd be in a lot of blackberries or roses, I'd go for the Upland Briar pants. But for most of my grouse hunting, these are great. Plus, they're lighter and cooler than the Upland Briar pants: great for early season. My first impression is quite good. These may displace my Upland Briar pants until conditions get more nasty.

tough enough for the brush
light enough for pre and early season temps.

Good fitting, lightweight, cool field pants that I would buy again if only the buttons would stay on the back pocket flaps. First day out, I found the left rear pocket button on the truck seat.
