Shoes that are priced for royalty but if you value quality then New will seem like a Balance worth having. These are made in USA New Balance 990 running shoes that will fit and wear well. Walk or run, expensive but worth the money. The only drawback is the shoe tongue shifting during the day but probably to do with my foot anatomy and not shoe construction. If you have resources you will get a good resource for a vital part of your body and your day. Buy New Balance in the USA from L.L.Bean. Quality in every respect.

I'm on my third pair of these in the past year (OK the dog got to one of them) Light weight even with all the support built in. I need 14's in extra wide and these fit great. Just right in length and no cramped around the toes. They wear well and Made right here in Maine, USA!

My fault is not w/ the shoe per se...I can't get sneakers in wide widths for women in most stores; so I thought I'd try these as I met another woman who suggested I try that tactic. While I have more room in the toe box, I find these sneakers are too heavy and clunky for me. I regret buying them now. I wanted these shoes to work, but I think I will have to find a store that carries New Balance in wide widths for women. A less heavy shoe. I have healthy feet otherwise. No orthopedic problems at all. Just a normal, wide foot but narrower heel. The average American woman wears an 8 W as I wear, so it's a mystery to me why dept. stores don't carry more wide shoes in stock. Everyone appreciates being able to try on a shoe to see if it's for them. I can't seem to do that any more. I've been reduced to a hunter-gatherer on the internet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by weezerguy Good quality, support and appearance.
The New Balance shoes appear to be a better buy than the crowd of other "sneakers" on the market. This model is one of the few actually made in the USA. Had a problem with toe cap coming loose, but LLBean took care of it 6 months after purchase and had good service, although there was confusion regarding an exchange rather than a return. Glad to know that it could have been a return after that long. I need orthotics and these work well with good side support in the shoe. Look forward to many yrs. of use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoyceD Great Shoes Even for a Walker!
I bought these running shoes for my husband. I had been looking for a suitable Christmas present for an obsessive walker and I came upon these New Balance shoes in a wide width (hard to find). My husband loves these shoes. He said they are the most comfortable shoes he owns. Granted, they are a bit pricey but for the comfort aspect, they are totally worth it. And I love the color - gray! I would recommend them to anyone looking for a comfort shoe. You don't have to be a runner to enjoy these shoes!
