Rated 4 out of 5 by lakiemom Good looking jacket but---
I bought this to take to seattle in July just in case I needed the outer rain jacket. I like the inside shell but even for the large it's really snug. I normally wear a medium in llbean jackets so I purchased a medium and it was too small so I exchanged it for a large. I will keep it but I think if you wear a large and either have broad shoulders or have a larger bust you should go up one size for sure. I am not sure what's going on with llbean but I am disappointed in their sizing. It used to be right on but now it's definitely a hit or miss. I appreciate the free return but what a hassle to buy from your company anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HHHappy Great Jacket With Great Features
I'm SO happy with this jacket! Great quality: it's very well made, and loaded with features! The fabric is beautiful, and the feminine touches are lovely. On me, the fit resembles the picture with the model: rather straight body, but very nice (which is exactly what I expected, from the photos). A definite keeper.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MaineRoma Beautiful Jacket, Terrible Fit
I read a lot of the reviews suggesting that this coat had a boxy, rather unflattering fit, and decided to order it anyway. It's beautiful material, nice color - I ordered ink - and I like the three in one design, BUT, the fit stinks. I looked like I weigh 30 lbs more than I do. I am 5 foot 8, 155 lbs and busty, so maybe that was the problem, but UGH! Good luck to you. I am sad to return it but no way would I wear this one.

I purchased this jacket in brown for a trip to Iceland in March. While around the city I wore the coat with the lining. While out hiking and exploring I layered and used the outer shell for rain/wind protection and it worked great. Love this jacket and so does my daughter, I think I may be purchasing one for her.

Rated 4 out of 5 by EGSqrlGrl Couldn't Find a Fit
Great jacket - loved the quality, versatile features and brighter colors. I desperately wanted to keep this jacket, but couldn't get a fit for my 5'4", 115 lb frame. Petite Sm was extremely large in the torso, especially the back (bunched and wrinkled uncomfortably while driving) and snap cuffs didn't allow adequate adjustment of sleeve length. Petite XS solved sleeve length, but was tight across shoulders and still too bulky. Would be willing to try jacket again if cuffs had velcro and if torso was de-bulked and tapered to truly give the feminine fit advertised.

Rated 4 out of 5 by snowberry Great Value
I bought this jacket in purple orchid because it was more feminine, and many people I meet have commented that they like the color. Even as I have become a large for most other brands' clothing, this jacket in medium feels roomy with 2 layers of clothing. I think most people can probably order a size down. It's not the most flattering fit, but feels really comfortable.
I've worn this in rain and snow and it keeps me warm till near freezing temperature, mainly warm and dry after walking half an hour in the wind and rain, but you still get a little bit damp feeling somehow.
Overall I'd say this is very good quality, and at full price, much more affordable than other brands.

Rated 4 out of 5 by llbeanmomincolorado Nice but not for me
I bought this in the brown and thought it would be great for travel. I love the inner jacket, which fit perfect. However, the outer jacket had sleeves too long, even with the snap cuffs. Elastic cuffs would have been a better choice and might have worked for me. Otherwise, the fit and quality were very good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by llbeanershopaholic The coat dreams are made of!
I LOVE my new coat, it's absolutely gorgeous! It is very comfortable, warm without bulk, and the zip-out coat is soft, and stylish with a gorgeous classic design sewn into it. The fit is accurate, I normally wear a medium in shirts from LLBean, but ordered a large coat so I have a little extra room and it's perfect. The Mountain Laurel collection is by far my favorite for women's winter jackets. Hope they keep this style going! Oh, and we've been experiencing -20F weather and the jacket is warm and toasty with no significant layering.

Rated 4 out of 5 by FitnesLover Not for skiing
I bought this for skiing. Last year I bought the 850 down coat and was wearing it under my gortex shell. I am always cold and was hoping for more warmth, especially with the -25degree rating. I skied all week in -5 degree weather and it is not as warm as my down coat under gortex. It doesn't have as many pockets, the thinsulate has no stretch which makes it difficult to layer. I couldn't wear the thinsulate with all my layers. I'm keeping it for spring (great waterproof shell) and the purple color is beautiful. Plus it's super lightweight. Just not made for windy ski conditions, wind went right thru it. Stick w gortex for skiing. I'm 5'5, 135# and medium was a good fit, to hip and I like the cut.

Rated 5 out of 5 by StitchMouse Feels Nice!
I wanted this jacket last year, but I didn't act quickly and it sold out. I coveted it ever since and finally bought one last month. While it is not as sleek or as tailored as they make it sound, it is still a great jacket. It is well made. Ink color is gorgeous. Most importantly, all of the materials feel nice. The soft lining in the collar, the stretchy cuffs of the lining jacket, and the material of the quilted inner jacket itself are nice and smooth. The sleeves of the lining jacket do not bunch up as they do on other interchangeable jacket systems (usually those liners are fleece). I don't think that this would cut it as a ski jacket, but it is a perfect 3 season jacket, and perfect for cold wet weather. I usually have to decide between buying large or x-large, but large was plenty big...almost too big, but I kept it to allow for layers
