Rated 5 out of 5 by TiaJuanita Warm,Lightweight Winter Jacket
I purchased my first Mountain Laurel Down Jacket three years ago and just purchased my second. The Jacket continues to be warm and wonderfully lightweight. My new Arctic Blue jacket did shed some feathers the first few weeks like another reviewer posted, but now I only see an occasional feather. We have had single digit temps for the past month and this jacket performs well - I am toasty warm even when it is windy and frigid. The new Mountain Laurel fit seems a bit looser, so if you are looking for a trim fit I would order a size down. The jacket is puffier compared to the previous one and large enough to wear a bulky sweater underneath. I am very satisfied with my new Mountain Laurel Down Jacket. Thanks LLBean.

Rated 1 out of 5 by maryfc Zipper gets stuck
I like the cut of this jacket and the fleece lined hood. But the zipper is very poor it catches and gets stuck on the fabric surrounding the zipper. It is very difficult to free up the stuck zipper, I am sure that it will break soon for all the struggle it takes to free it when stuck. I see why this is a clearance item it is not up to usual LLBean quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Silvercoupe40 Nice Jacket
I bought the brown jacket and am loving it. It has kept me toasty warm in 25 - 30 degree temps and the hood is a nice addition for windy conditions. The comfort level is excellent with a super-soft lining in the hood and pockets. My main use for this jacket is for driving and shopping. The fit is what I like the best. This jacket does silhoutte your body nicely but is not as fitted as some of the other brands with similar products. The embroidered flower design on the back gives it a nice feminine touch and I have received many compliments so far. Overall, this is a great jacket and I would highly recomment it.

Took this on a camping trip. When the weather turned blustery and dropped to the lower 30s, I put this on over fleece and was cozy and comfortable during a morning hike as well as for the rest of the day walking dogs and exploring the campground.
The fleece inside the top of the coat is extremely soft and very warm! :) Two of the greatest features are room in the arms for movement and the adjustable hood. I like how the outer material is gently shiny, but not too much. The brown color is great, and the flower stitching on the back is pretty. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

This jacket looks nice and feels good but will fall apart after first washing - the outer shell is very weak. They discounted it now but should really refund the purchase since it is not up to Bean's standard.

I just bought this jacket today. Mind you it is a little early for our canadian winters, but it feels awsome on, nice and light, and lots of pockets for my walking adventures. Will have to let you know about the warmth once the winter starts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MaineRoma New Version Not As Great As the Original
I had this jacket in white/silver for YEARS and loved it nearly to shreds. It looked good, just stylish enough without being too cute/short for a 40-something woman to wear. Not too puffy and quite warm for most winter days in Maine. Finally decided to get the new version of the coat and I don't love it. Color is great, material seems fine BUT The cut is boxier in a size large - which is same size I had before. Not as flattering. I am not a small person 5 ft 8" 150 lbs, rather top heavy. Mountain Laurel is not working for me and I have had similar issues with other Mountain Laurel jackets. Boxy = not flattering. Debating whether I will return. Please bring back the original cut and color!!

Bought this early in Spring to replace another jacket. My thinking was that as we live in NW Oregon I would not really be using it until next Fall........however.........as Oregon weather can change in a heartbeat we are back to Fall/Winter like conditions. I wore this jacket both last night and today to sit at Lacrosse games in the wind and rain........LOVED IT!!! I was so toasty warm and even though not advertised as water proof.....it proved to be so in these conditions! Very happy with how lightweight it is also. Have had several compliments on style and color (ink blue). Excellent customer service I might add!!! Thank you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Celeste63 My new favorite winter jacket
This jacket is light, comfortable, cozy and flattering. The asymmetrical quilting and flower detail make it more than just another puffy coat. Love the fleecy lining in the hood. Lots of pockets. Some reviewers were not crazy about the purple color but I love it. Definitely need a wool layer underneath if the temperature is below freezing though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by llbeanmomincolorado LOVE this jacket!!!
I got this in the ink blue, which is beautiful! The fit is roomy enough and long enough for a mid-weight sweater. It's nice and lightweight like a packable down jacket, making it super comfortable, but very warm. I sometimes have a problem with sleeves being too long but these are perfect. I like the thin knit cuff hidden in the sleeve to keep out the cold. Also like the very soft fleece around the collar. The stitching/seams make it flattering, not as poufy as other down jackets. It's exactly what I was looking for, with L.L. Bean's great quality. Love it!!!
