Rated 5 out of 5 by BMoan Ohio Hunting trip
Just back from a rain soaked week in Ohio, Pike County. These boots worked great. Zero break-in, zero hot spots. I had read other
reviews about the ankle bone issue and tried putting in a second inner sole from a retired pair of boots. The slight added height made the ankle bone a non problem. Walked through streams, and miles of wet leaves and loose rocks. Most of the area is foothills with numerous steep sides to climb up or down. Had great traction and very little internal foot movement. Tread showed no signs of wear.
Best boot for my kind of hunting and they felt light walking. Money well spent.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Agingathlete Good boots at fair price
I received these recently so it's a bit early to review. My plan is to use these for cold weather snow removal, and then for some deer hunting on cold days in the future.

At first glance, these boots are well worth the money based on fit and quality level of manufacture. Too early to tell as to durability but I will know after the Ohio deer hunting season. Based on numerous other Been products, I fully expect these boots will be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EaglesFan1 Comfortable and great fit
I got these boots as a gift and like other LL Bean products in the past, the size was true to fit and they were comfortable the minute I started wearing them. They are warm, waterproof, and fit perfectly. I've always trusted LL Bean for my footwear and will continue to do so in the future!

I tried to break them wearing almost everyday and still after 2 month of wearing it these boots creating pinch at your ankle like a stabbing plus my feet get sweat no air flow whatsoever but the biggest problem is painful to wear these boots even after 2 month .
You gotta totally redesign these boots LL Bean or your ankles

Rated 1 out of 5 by WesternMaineMtns 3 weeks and falling apart
Today is Day 2 of deer rifle season, and I discovered a spot where the seams are splitting on the side. Unfortunately, I discovered it as I was crossing a wet spot in the woods. Also, these are not the most comfortable pair of boots right out of the box. I had to insert my own pair of insoles to stop them from rubbing my ankles. I will be contacting LL Bean shortly to return this product. I was suspect that these boots would not hold up, and unfortunately I was right. I have worn them the past 3 weeks while working in the woods, to break them in for hunting. I have a total of about 30-45 miles on them. I expect them to last longer than 3 weeks, even if they are used daily.

After my first morning of hunting in the boots, they began to stretch and pinch on the outside of my ankles. They would be good upland boots, but not for the mountains of Oregon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ksesx Greaat boots .. but Not for those with a Wide Foot
This is a great boot and I wish that they had fit. They appear well made and are pretty darned comfortble .. granted I never left the house with them. The problem for me is the lack of a wide size offering. I'm an 8 1/2 EE and ordered a 9 Med which sometimes works, but not his time. I tried them on with a pair of SmartWool socks in the comfort of my home and one boot was super deluxe comfortable, but the other put my outer toes to sleep in no time .. just too tight. Packing them up for return and searching out a traditional lace-up boot elsewhere. Most likely another Danner Pronghorn boot in EE for me. Sorry LL .. I wish you carried something for those of us with a wider foot. If you have a medium width foot I believe that these will make you happy.

These are the best outdoor boots I've ever owned. From snowshoeing to shoveling the driveway, to making snow forts with the kids, they keep my toes warm and are as comfortable as a pair of sneakers!

Rated 2 out of 5 by GiggleKids Not the Best Quality Boots~Still LOVE L.L. Bean!
This item was purchased for my husband and our son. My husband wore them one day before one of the lace metal loops broke. L.L. Bean was terrific and exchanged the item right away for the same pair~they even used 2-Day shipping so that my husband would have them in time for hunting camp. However, although my husband and son said that these were extremely comfortable, warm, and waterproof, one of the rubber seams broke open on my husband's new pair after having them less than what hunting season lasts in Northern NY. So, we just returned his boots as well as my son's. Again, L.L. Bean stood behind their 100% Guarantee. This fall we will try to find an L.L. Bean pair that is made here in the U.S., not China.
