Rated 5 out of 5 by LLBeanBeliever Love the Cut and Fit of this Jacket!
This jacket is wonderful. It has the fit and feel of a hacking or riding jacket, and I love the longer length! It looks great with jeans or slacks, too. I got it in navy, claret, and cadet blue and I wish it were available in a variety of colors and plaids. I'm too old to wear the shrunken-fit, modern little blazers, so this jacket is a blessing. I feel so stereotypically 'professor' when I wear them!

Another L.L. Bean item that I loved, but had to send back because it's too wide in the torso. I loved the fabric, softness, color (cadet blue) and lining - well constructed, classy piece. Online it's described as "slightly fitted" and the photos make it look a bit streamlined at the waist, but the small was pretty boxy. So sad ....

This blazer is as beautiful and eye-catching as it looks in the catalogue: gorgeous fabric, dressy, great for office or theatre wear, infinitely mix-and-matchable. The fabric has substantial weight but also a soft feel and lovely drape (ah, wool). The lining adds to the rich feeling. This jacket is a pleasure to wear. It runs true to size tending to the roomy side and, as pictured, has a longer rather than short blazer cut. I feel quite elegant wearing it.

I received my Boucle jacket, tried it on and immediately loved it. I love the feel of the fabic and the look of the blazer. I wore this jacket for the first time yesterday and received multiple compliments. I am so glad that LLBean came out with a longer blazer made of quality material.

I looked forward to receiving this jacket this past week, having ordered it through a two-a-day special in a gorgeous light blue. Unfortunately, when buttoned up my spare tire shows, and I always wear jackets buttoned up. I am 5'8", 156 lbs. and the size 12 fits perfectly except on me it's too tight around the middle. It's going back.

I've worn this classic blazer twice, with black trousers and an L.L.Bean
black cashmere turtleneck. It was appropriate for dinner at a hotel in San Francisco and for an event at church. I was completely comfortable and secure in my appearance even though I'm a size 16 -- not exactly runway ready. The workmanship is impeccable, the boucle jacket fabric and lining are first rate and the cut is flattering. I couldn't ask for anything more. Thank you for the past 35 years, dear L.L.Bean! What would I do without you?

This coat was not up to my standards. I found the fabric to be flimsy and the fit was too boxy and unflattering. It might have helped to have put the pocket flaps on a slant instead of straight across which added to the boxy affect. I have a curvy figure but didn't look it in this coat... returned it.

I recently purchased this Jacket in Navy. I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations. The fabric is outstanding quality, the fit is perfect and the length couldn't be better. I am 5'' and the petite is just right. I would say fits true to size. I cant recommend this jacket enough as a perfect "go to" for a classic, stylish, preppy look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LongTimeFamilyShopper Fitted. Flattering. Comfortable.
The other reviews made me wonder about the fit of this jacket. It has turned out beautifully. It is comfortable, lots of room in the arms to move around. I am 5'8" and curvy. The jacket falls low on my hips; low enough that it still covers when I bend at the waist.
I have the charcoal. For me it is much less stark and formal than all black. Good for days when I want to look composed, but not have a full suit.
Agree that it us expensive, but the construction is solid, the lining thin, but still sturdy. I am hoping to keep this jacket or years.

I agree with a previous reviewer; the jacket has an unflattering and definite flare at the bottom. I have three from years ago when it had a true, blazer type fit. Still love them and wear them. I tried on L.L. Bean's new version last year while visiting the Freeport store. I intended on purchasing one, but no matter what size I tried, the flare was a major problem. The jacket is well made of exceptional material and when L.L. Bean does a redesign of the fit, then I will be the first of many, to buy one.
